I am missing some more maps from Operation Market Garden, like Veghel bridge, 'The Island' or the stalemate in Oosterbeek. For the bridge maps, I suggest that the Germans holding the bridge are surrounded and must repel paratroop attacks coming from all directions. The Allied tickets will shrink rather quickly until the paratroopers (most likely) seize the bridge, then the Germans will lose points. The Germans should have another capturable spawn point on the road north. If possible, armor will spawn here if the bridge is taken. All Allied spawn points are parajumps. For the Oosterbeek mission (also called the Witch's Cauldron by the Germans), I envision an advancing German force trying to retake the city. It might look like the battle scenes from Black Hawk Down, with lots of buildings to walk inside, and soldiers might pop up anywhere. All spawn points are capturable. For 'The Island' mission, the advancing Allied tanks are forced to drive on a road very exposed to German fire because the surrounding landscape is boggy and can't support vehicles. This will be an Assault mission, where infantry and armor will be forced to cooperate to ensure success. The Germans will mostly use infantry here. These are only some ideas I've got, because I feel these kind of operations are lacking in BF42. FH is a marvellous mod, adding that extra edge to realism that BF42 didn't succeed in. So I hope some of these ideas will inspire you if you are planning to make any of these maps.
Oh, I'm most sorry but this thread was by accident posted in the wrong forum. It was supposed to be in the Mappers forum. Any of the admins, please move it there.
No worries, giving map suggestions here is acceptable (I think). Regarding the idea I also was about to ask the same thing. Op Mkt Grd wasn't only confined to Arnhem but also to Nijmegen where the Allies succeeded. I agree on making Oosterbeek but I don't know what you mean by "The Island"?. I can't seem to find anything about "The Island" on the Internet. This site has some pretty good info btw: http://www.fact-index.com/o/op/operation_market_garden.html
yes, there should be some paradrop missions for OMG
North of Nijmegen lies a rather boggy area, where the road had been raised to prevent vehicles from sinking down and getting stuck. This was nicknamed 'The Island' by the Allied soldiers, most likely because the boggy land was inaccessible to vehicles, like water. Because that road was the only way to get to Arnhem, a giant risk was taken. The tanks were exposed to enemy anti-tank weapons - I would compare it to walking on a battlefield on stilts! My idea about that map was forcing the infantry and armor to cooperate, making support teams like in real warfare. The infantry will have to suppress the Germans while the tanks advance. I tried to add a drawing on how I envision the maps to be made, but it was filtered away by this site, most likely to prevent people from placing ads here. But that system, in my case, filtered away valuable information. I've got more ideas on OMG missions, mostly based on an old Microsoft war game called Close Combat 2: A Bridge Too Far. I enjoy that game, and some of the maps would have been perfect to convert into FH.
haha OMG is operation market garden
Perhaps a Nijmegen bridge map where US AB infantry cross the Waal river in rowboats to capture the opposite bank while British tanks/artillery provide support and then advance on the bridge once the north bank is taken by the US troops.
Because none of the air drops took place near the bridges, maybe have a map dedicated to defending the landing zones at Groesbeek or Oosterbeek.
Close Combat: A Bridge Too Far is an extremely historically accurate game and with all those maps, it could be made into it's own mod.
I have no skills on modding, but if I had, and some other guys joined me, I would surely make that mod. But I think that mod should be based on FH, just like DCX is to Desert Combat. I think the Groesbeek and Oosterbeek landing zone maps will be too small for BF42 anyway, because you are able to kill people at more than 250 m range with a Mauser! In reality that would require 'world champion' soldiers. Btw, I believe almost every weapon (except tanks) even in FH is too accurate. I've only got a lot of ideas, others will have to carry them out. That's why I posted them here on this site (by accident under the wrong topic...).

Thread moved to the appropriate forum. And it would be great if you could post some pictures of what the CC2 maps look like...
Not a CC2 map, but might be interesting for a FH map maker
