The Battle of Körlin.
In my research for some skins, I came across an interesting battle that occured from two very unusual units. In March 1945, the 33d SS Division "Charlemagne" (A French division of the SS) was surrounded by the Soviets and was split into three groups. The interesting part of this battle occures with one of the groups. The group, under command of SS-Brigaderfueher Krukenberg, was ordered to retreat via the German navy to the baltic sea. They were then engaged by ex-German POWs serving in the Soviet Army in the "Seydlitz Division." Imagine a map where the Germans fight the Soviets, but the Germans are French, and the Soviets are German? I think that would be a really interesting map to try out.
I like it. It's a very unicle scenario, but have you found any details on how the battle looked like?
Most information I can find is wooded area near the Baltic Coast south of a city called Belgard. http://axis101.bizland.com/Charlemagne1.htm Acroll down to the battle of Korlin

Sounds very interesting! With a bit of coding (not sure if it could be done map-side) it could be possible to make the Axis team speak French and the Soviets speak German... Not sure about that though.
that's realy no problem. Who ever told you that team 1 has to be one of Axis nations and team 2 one of Allies? You can set any two teams against them, the only hard thing is to make them use different flag. But all flags are in one file so probably you just have to change places of flags so you'll replace french with german and german with russian.
Well, you'd have to code it so the Germans speak French and the Soviets speak German, I think you can change that by changing the setteamskin value in the init.con file... so you have the french on the map, and set the team skin to germans, and put the Germans on the allied side, and set the team skin to russians... I'm not a doctor, or a mapper, but I think it might work. Or I could be entirely wrong, in either case, I tried.
It is impossible to assign a skin of other model to another model. Game will crush because the UV map will differ if the models differ. What is my idea is just to make french on team 1 and Germans on team 2. Then change their uniform skins to correct ones - these won't be the accurate models but why to care if original models for teams aren't that much accurate too? And this will work for sure on map base.

Because they would then be even less accurate... Come to think of it, I don't think you can add a new army in the map file itself. The random German uniforms, technically a new army, had to be put in mod-side. I think language, flags, player model and uniform skin are all lumped together to make the "army".
I already agreed with it, where is your problem? Read again, there is still absolutely no problem to make Axis speak french and Allies speak German. Then you only have to change uniform skins.
