I spent about 10 hours yesterday and about 7 hours today laying out and adjusting the heightmap in BC 2.1 and went to render surface maps prior to exporting the map to finish it in ED42.
BC 2.1 get 99% done and them crashed to desktop. OK no biggie I reopen BC 2.1 and go to reload my map and BC 2.1 crashes to desktop when it tries to load the map. I try to open FH and FH wont even start with the map in the levels folder. I talke the map out and it starts fine.
I try to open the map with WINRFA and win RFA gives me a major crash warning "MAJOR CRASH! dlg.Domodal()" and then "winRFA.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need tor estart the program. An error log has been created"
So I loaded FH toolkit and ran debugger and tried to start BF1942 running the debugger and get
"Debug Assertion failed! Module: IoFile Engine: Engine\IoFile\FlatArchive.cpp Line:792
Expression: Success Text: Error loading file list"
I just want the height map so I dont have to start from scratch. Anyone know a way to get to it?
uhg...if you cant unpack the .rfa i think your SOL. all i can suggest is try a different .rfa extractor to get your height map i use "RFA Extractor.exe" i find it works the best for just extracting. here it is, if ya wanna try using it. dunno if it will work, but give it a shot.
Tried it, didnt work, threw things, rested, started over, crashed, deleted and reinstalled BC, now workiong and moving along.

man i think after all that annoyance i would have smashed my shoe through the computer screen. my penny loafers, not the iversons...the iversons are too good...you know glass could cut the leather. my penny loafers are expendible seeing as how i never wear them. i never could figure out how to actually get the penny into the little slot on the front. its pretty tuff. anyways thats my 2 cents. have fun mapping! :)
