I want to add a background in a map, but I have a doubt. I found this tutorial:
For adding background image, add a screenshot of ingame footage to the same folder (info) and rename to "loadmap" and save as a size 512x512 PNG image However, I don't understand why I have to do a picture 512x512 pixels. I tried to open loadmaps of other maps but I can't and don't know why (it's PNG, should work...). So, my doubt is, what size should I use for the loading screens?
512×512 is the right size.
I know, but this is too small for a screen 1024x768 :confused:
It will be stretched to fill the background. If you make a screenshot, it will be saved as PNG (and JPEG) so you only have to resize it.
no, the .png images used in maps are really .dds ones
Rename one of those png's to dds and you will see
Loadmap is a 512x512 dds DXT1 without mipmaps image, later reanme it as .png and done
