I am going to stuff hang a poster on a wall and I was looking for the location of the poster texture files.

In the poster*.rs files it is listed like this: _subshader "posters_am3_m1_Material0" "StandardMesh/Default" { lighting true; lightingSpecular false; materialDiffuse 1 1 1; twosided true; texture "texture/posters_h"; } normally then I look for the files in the texture directory (unpacked .rfa of course) but these i cannot find. I am begging for some hint on where to look....pleeeease :(

Yes, I was beginning to wonder myself....but you were "away" on MSN mostly all the evening so I could not get an independent check without asking in forums. Knoffhoff had a suggestion which is probably the most correct guess, that this is a "zombie" object from an earlier version (i have only added/overwritten stuff to my unpacked archives and older stuff I may not have deleted, at least that could be the explanation. Very well then, I will need to make the posters then...

Aren't you supposed to look into the texture.rfa file of FH? Sometimes FH also uses vanilla templates, so if FH's texture file shows no result, look into the vanilla texture files. Otherwise you can still always use the classic posters, or rather paintings, of which are hanging on the walls in vanilla buildings. For example, I used the russian and german signs textures, replaced the images with posters, cut out the unused sections using transparency, and finally place the sign objects in the map, just outside any walls. I used this in my Berlin map, works quite well.

To me I find this is one thing that really seems missing at times on maps, is posters and billbords, signs for stores and such. Alot of these towns don't look lived in at all and I think little things like that would definately add to the atmosphere. I know in Otolikos' Road To Ramelle map he's got a large billboard on the side of one building and a sign above a dorrway on another building, nice little touches imo.

@Kingrudolf : Well, i have scanned through a 1.4 GB sized texture-folder, which keeps all the vanilla-, all the many versions of FH- and additional the Norwegian Resistance-textures. If i can't find it here, then i'm sure, noone can find it. ;)

Did you also try using the German and Russian sign textures for example? I could show you how I made posters out of them. Those files are definetely to be found in the vanilla texture.rfa.

I agree with you here, i also have seen these files somewhere, despite the fact, that all of the posters-models have it assigned as texture in their .rs-file. But ... they are just not there : gibsnich.jpg Please, if someone can dig up the posters_h.dds, post it here ! :D

These are the files I used in my Berlin map, which is featured in the upcoming mappack. I did not use the "posters_h.dds" file.
