Some of this sounds like it would fit right in with Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Sounds more like a single player mission more so than a multiplayer deal.
Oh, get real, JumJum, this is just playing with the possibilities of another good map for FH1 like Alphenstung for Singleplayer. There was a lot of good equipment that was totally drawn up but never actually got totally used. It is actually thought that fligerfaust might have got used in Berlin. Also there is the Vampier nightscope which was almost ready. How do you think the US worked out their own so quickly? The US scope is a reworked smaller version of the Vampier nightscope. I just wish it was on one map even if it is as a pickup kit. Preferably as a pick-up kit on an STG-44 as that is the only German weapon I have ever seen pictures of it on. This is only an idea for one map which probably won't get made for FH1 unfortunately. I know it strives for realism but sometimes it is possible to have a realistic mod with maps that aren't realistic. Technically Alphenstung shouldn't exist then according to your records. Alphenstung has the Go-229 which didn't enter service, it also has the Duster AA- tank. Unless I am wrong the Duster tank entered service in Vietnam as an AA protection tank. Shall I go on? It is not like I suggested giving the Germans lazerguns or anything too way out. These weapons actually did undergo testing, they just didn't actually enter service. Do you actually think if anything like that had happened, the public would be told anyway? I have tried them but find the physics of the guns annoying. Anyway, I did suggest something which doesn't use any totally unrealistic weapons. The Amerika bomber did fly, 3 Maus so I have heard were completed, the Fliegerfaust was trialled, so was the Vampier nightscope, the German Balistic Missile was undergoing testing. Okay, then let's change it to a weapons testing facility where you have to hamper the testing of these weapons. Let's say November 1944, as a mission ahead of Allied forces to stop the development of these weapons. Factories, etc were blown up by commandos. Think of a map like this as a tribute to SOE and the brave commandos. Okay, maybe suggesting chemical weapons use was a bad idea. But the original idea sounds good.
HealzDevoDo you actually think if anything like that had happened, the public would be told anyway?
Sure that it would be, if not after teh battle then it would be now or few years ago. Would allies have anything to be ashamed from this battle? If they couldn't tell about it because of any secret weapons then it would be no problem later. AS for allied counterattacks on any launch sides, I'm afraid that there was no in 1944 as allies got stock on whole front from Switzerland to the Netherlands. And I haven't ever heared that SAS would be takeing part in removeing them in this time. Anyway I like the idea as it is rather similar to Alpenfestung-1945 wich showed that such maps aren't that bad and it's probably not so hard to do.;)
