Ive been reading a modeling tutorial for vehicles in BF42 and it says that you cant use the mirroring tool or it will reverse the normals on your model. Is that true? Cant you just flip the normals to correct such a problem?
yes, that actually works... note that your model will look fine before you export, but ingame, your normals will be inverted... export after mirroring and then import again... and then you should be able to see the faces that are messed up.
Thanks, thats a relief to know there is a simple solution to the problem.
Don't use the mirror tool, use the mirror feature in the modifiers stack, it doesn't flip faces.
To be sure your model is in perfect state for exporting use resetXform and convert to editable mesh, it will show the flipped faces.
