Hi, i want to make the minimap smaller like the FH Team did with karelia, Arnhem and so on, but after a long search and many not really succesful attempts, i give it up and ask you. Can anybody help me?

mmh...

that doesn´t help me =(. the materialmap.raw is for the footstep sounds of the difficult material and the "outofcombat"-area (7,7,7). so that´s not the point i searched for. I don´t know how the active combat area works, but it moves only the combat area (flags, spawnpoints and vehicles are moving). So that doesn´t influence the size of the minimap ingame. I want, that some parts of the minimap are not to see at all.

Any other ideas? thx for help.

sorry, havent tried it myself. check out the init.con of karelia and arnhem or mail the devs?

i checked all init.con of these maps, but didn´t find anything important.

I mailed Beregil (Gold Beach and Omaha Beach CS), but so far no answer.

Ask Arminace, he probably knows it. I never done it myself, but if you do find out how, post it up at the mappers topic.

Ok, I figured out (after a good time of experimenting) how to get the damn minimap centered. In the init.con, for a 2048 map, change the "0 0 2048 2048" settings to "512 512 1024 1024". The objects stay at the same place! However, I don't seem to notice much increase of detail for the minimap. It looks a bit blurry still, but I guess that's from the automatic .dds compression. I think you might be able to touch it up if you know your way around with Photoshop.

hi, thx for your help. I see now like the combat area work. first two points are the start points and the next two numbers are the size of the map. That makes the minimap smaller like in Berlin for sure, but it must be always a square and that´s not what i want. My minimap has the right size and the flags and so on are at the right place, but i don´t want a square. Line 1,2,7 and 8 should be away (means, that i use the whole width of the map, but only a part of the height). So it´s a rectangle (256 0 512 1024 for combatarea, but the 256 moved the flags and the 512 expanded an axis).

Armin Ace said it must be in the terrain.con, but he didn´t know it at the moment i asked him. So far i find no important differences between the terrain.cons of Battle_of_Stalingrad, Arnhem, Gold Beach and so on.

I asked him as well, he'd post it as soon as he looked into it.. but he'll probably forget about it. I don't see why using custom values wouldn't work.. do they need to be in "steps" of 256 or anything.. I tried changing some things in the terrain.con before, but it didn't seem to affect the minimap at all. In fact, I wasn't able to find anything changed at all..
