To make things really, really short, my High School band did a concert today with some Australian foreign exchange students, and they played some compositions that I thought had parts that would be EPIC as loading screen background music for the Normandy theater.

SUCH AS:

A couple of parts in "Escape from Plato's Cave", as well as "Looking Across The Border" (I don't know who wrote either one though..)

Some old Betty Johnson tunes for the US's D-Day maps,

And finally, PIRATES OF TEH CARIBBEAN for any sea maps.

Ahoy Mateys!

I recorded most of the performance with my Creative Zen. Here's a link to a .zip containing the recordings of the Betty Johnson (I'm getting the right name, right?) performance, and the Pirates of the Caribbean performance.

It was pretty kickass, especially the part that starts in Recording 2 at about 5:33 (Pirates O.T.C.), and the part that starts at about 4:15 in Recording 1 (Escape F.P.C.).

Link: Blah.zip

PS: The recordings are more for samples of what the compositions were like, and what the fitting parts were that I was talking about. The quality is shaky sometimes, and... well... a developer would be the best judge on whether or not these recordings themselves could make it in game (that would be awesome :D).

Oh, and... some of the recordings were really good until the fat lady sitting next to me ruined them... such as, Recording 3, at about 4:40, when she started clapping along with the band... which was too close for comfort to the mic.

She was also coughing a lot, and yelling "WHOOOO!!!!!!" at the end of everything... as well as tapping her foot constantly, which, thank god, wasn't picked up.
