Not long ago I tried the Mosque in game and it applied a terrain texture somehow that I could not remove.

Then I opened a different map I was working on and when I generated surface maps THE MOSQU TERRAIN WAS ON A DIFFERENT MAP THAT THE MOSQUE HAD NEVER BEEN INSTALLED ON!

Thinking I had a corrupted install I deleted Battlecraft and FH from the hard drive and reinstalled both.

I started a new map from scratch not using ANY materials from the old maps

AND THE SAME MOSQUE TEXTURE IS ON THE NEW MAP!!!! I HAVE NEVER INSTALLED OR EVEN OPENED THE MOSQUE FILE SO IT SHOULD NOT EVEN BE ON THE MAP!

WTF???? THIS IS PISSING ME THE FUCK OFF!

I have played with BC since the beta and nothing like this has ever happened. How can a custom terrain file jump to another map?

this looks like something that bc does for some reason. If I'm correct in this diagnosis, you'll find the answer in your "init.con" in the maps extracted main folder... rem ********************************************* rem Created by Battlecraft 1942. Copyright (c)2003,2004 Digital Illusions CE rem ********************************************* ShaderManager.setTextureParam envmap bf1942\levels\My_FH_Level\Textures\ENVMAP_G_.rcm renderer.globalLodPercent 1 renderer.globalAmbientColor 0.100000/0.100000/0.100000 renderer.ambientColor 0.120000/0.110000/0.120000 renderer.diffuseColor 0.350000/0.300000/0.200000 renderer.specularColor 0.300000/0.300000/0.300000 renderer.vertexFogEnable 1 renderer.fogColorVec 0.680000/0.620000/0.550000 renderer.animatedMeshAmbientColor 0.15 textureManager.alternativePath Texture ............../\ ............/....\ ........../_...._\ .............I. I .............I. I .............I .I .............I .I that last line is the problem... just remove it...:) edit, oh and one more thing... next time you delete bc just leave it deleted

yes it's because fh's texture archive contains a file called "tx02x03.dds" which is the name of one of the terrain texture files for all levels. i don't know why it's there

Sacred Lizard If I were a woman I would offer to bear your children. Since I am male I'll have to say thank you and be done with it.

That did indeed fix it.

Thanks Again.

BTW I am now using ED42 for map making and terrain but I do like BC 2.1's object placement better. And I am having problems repacking maps which is probably my lack of skill but not sure where its messing up.

My point was not to blame the Mosque per se but that the problem appeared after I placed the Mosque on the map. My apologies if I was finger pointing, was just very frustrated.

hehe, Im really glad that you got that fixed, man. I often use battlecraft to start a map because it sets you off with a more complete map file so when you decide to test, its less work, so I don't really mean that you should delete bc... it just annoys me alot so i talk trash.

in my optinion.-.... just uninstall BC ... this solves the most problems....

the other editors + scripts are maybe a bit more complicated but far better
