Okay I got Adobe Photoshop CS 2.
I downloaded the Nvidia DDS plug-in. When I open the files edit them and then save them it dosnt show it in-game. Just the default ones.
I made a file called texture_003.rfa. Dont know if thats the problem. I just saw some map files with _001 and _003 so I guessed it would be the same for theese files.
Any help would be appreciated.
there is no texture_001 or texture_002, so name it texture_001
this must be placed in the main FH folder with the main FH texture file
unless these are map textures then the textures must go in the map itself.
well there is a texture_001 since I download cheeses tex pack
ok name it 002 then
okay, when I try to save it I cannot save it with any alpha channels, do that matter anything?
If you are doing a skin with any transparent sections then yes that matters. If your skin contains alpha channels then change the dds format to DXT3 in the plugin's menu. Skins without alpha channels can be saved as DXT1 but I'm not sure if there's any difference in file size between DXT1 and DXT3. As for my texture pack - do as BadSeed says - put mine in a different folder/rename it _002 or something. Or if you want all of them and your new textures unpack my texture_001, place your texture in and re-pack the whole thing again. Welcome to the world of skinning! Good luck with it - it would be great to see some of your work when you have stuff done! :)
There is a noticeable diference in size, a DXT1 has half the size of a DXT3 so if you texture has not alpha layer save it as DXT1
Hmm... in that case there might be some re-sizing of the texture pack! :naughty:
Mr_CheeseHmm... in that case there might be some re-sizing of the texture pack! :naughty:
