Nope. I prefer my three days of heaven (the days I use the computer: Friday through Sunday) not wasted, I treasure them and the moment I wake up Monday I remember something I should have done on my nice two foot tall friend.

Gahdamn kids. In my day, when we wanted entertainment we went out and killed rabbits with slings. Assuming of course there were no wolves around. God help ya if there were wolves.

Uh, do I understand correctly that there is an organized movement to voluntarily shut personal computers down for three days? If so, for what possible reason? Who is behind this - Luddites Anonymous? Are we supposed to be saving endangered electrons?

I guess I could see it as an act of religious devotion akin to self-denial, self-abnegation or mortification for some Roman Catholics andthose other Christians who observe Lent (the forty day period between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday). So in that sense such a computer shutdown might even be a holy act for some persons.

But not for me. And I'm guessing that's not where the shutdowners are coming from. Any ideas what this about?

The internets is the devil, remember Jumjum?

This is the act of snooty old-timers who can't help think back to the olden days when men were men and women made a mean sandwich. People who are too stuck in their own times to realize that world is really friggin different these days. Computers aren't just playthings, they're integral to everything we do these days. These guys need to get with the times and realize that just because they're ignoring the world doesn't mean that they're any better than anyone else.
