Came out of supermarket by work just in time to see two B-1B Lancers in a hard right hand turn flying VERY LOW and fast on the way to buzz the Brickyard 400 race at the Indianapolis 500 racetrack.

Even having gone to numerous airshows I was still shocked. I have never seen anything that big flying that fast that low.

I used to see B-52's that did low level navigation over rural Kentucky back in the late 60's early 70's but they were not going fast.

These guys were scootin.

We were buzzed by a B-17 and a B-24 flying at about 300 feet while playing volleyball at uni around 1993. They were flying in for Fleet Week in SF, and holy shit, I don't think I've ever felt the ground shake like that.

Far from a B1,but standing straight under a C-130 passing at an altitude of 50 feet or so was pretty interesting.

heh you want loud Book a ride on one of thesefuddyduddy-full.jpg

It was worth Every penny I should have Sprung for the Jacket at the time but not that I would wear it though.. Check here for when they might be in your area... I cannot comment on Aluminum Overcast but Fuddy Duddy was in great shape and gave a great ride over Asheville.

I went to see Aluminum Overcast when it came to the East Coast last year, but I didn't go for the ride (next time!) It looked like it was in great condition when I was walking around inside of it. :)

Wait..I just realized that Anlushac said something about "joy" and "Indianapolis" in the same sentence.

That's an oxymoron. Add a couple of hundred B-17s, loaded, with open bomb bay doors into the equation, and you have one of the few things that could possibly ever put joy into that place.
