When someone gives you rep, do you generally send them a PM to thank them? Or do you just let them give it to you and be done with it? Im asking because I used to play a online game a few years ago (Neopets, go on, laugh...) and it was noobish to send people letters if you bought from their shop and stuff.

Personally, I usually appreciate to recieve a PM with thanks in it. This is courtesy, but not obligation.

I don't really actively check my reputation, I approve of people's post when I think they did some work to post it but I honestly don't care if I get a PM. I don't send them either if someone gives me positive or negative rep though.

Can I see who's given me reputation? I didn't think it's possible, unless the person had signed the message?

No, only moderators and higher can see who gave them reputation. Maybe Advanced members too..

And no, I don't sent "thank you" letters. I may give reputation back, atleast on negative ones. ;)

Yep one the best thing about being staff is seeing who gave you rep and more importantly seeing who dared to neg rep you so you can 'thank' them ;) But in response to the original question I don't really check my rep much as I never seem to get any  but I do give it out for decent posts.

I give reputation for posts wich I feel that members deserved rep for. I never expect to recive any thank you pm as it's my form of approval, and why should anybody thank me for something wich basically can be a form of thanks from me?
