I found this pretty interesting, to summarize:

VODEN, Bulgaria (AFP) — Until recently, more than 100 rusty military tanks lay half-buried and almost forgotten in deserted fields near Bulgaria's southeastern border, planted as a Cold War deterrent to NATO's southern flank.

But the theft of a rare vintage model sent the army scurrying this month to start a recovery operation to save those still left from looters.

Heard about this a couple months back...its a real shame. Some guys in the CHG are trying to get a hold of a Pz4 or such from them, and restore it, but I don't know how well that's going....

It's seems to be a panzer 4 and T-34/76 turret mating.

Nice find! I wonder what they are gonna do after they recover them? Let them sit and rust (even more so) under lock and key no doubt. Be nice if they would try and sell them to people with loads of cash for restoration.

As I said Lainer, CHG is trying to get a hold of a Pz4, but not sure if it'll fall through. We just did get another Hetzer tank from Bulgaria though.

I hope Jacques Littlefield or Kevin Wheatcroft get a hold of some of them.

Not Littlefield, please no. He used to let us use his Stug in battles, then he tried to use it to pull another vehicle out of the mud, which ended up blowing up the Stug's transmission. Now, it sits in his garage. The guy is a collecter, but he knows shit all about how to treat them....

Good luck to whoever wants to restore one of those rusty skeletons. Pretty cool find, though.
