Hey boyos, thought I might share the beginning of a new comic project I'm starting up in the new year. A little cartoony series about a generic fictional war (a conglomeration of most of the major 20th century conflicts) between generic fictional factions, following the miserable little lives of the grunts at the very bottom of the food chain; the cannon fodder.
These are three 'test' comics I did to sort of get a feel, and try to develop a new style for this project. I wanted something fast and simple to produce, with a recognizable look to it. I always loved the combination of cutesy cartoon characters mixed with gritty and violent situations, so this style is very inspired by things like metal-slug and several other military/cartoon type art.
Hopefully some of them will make you laugh, then feel bad about yourself for laughing :p. And some of them might just make you feel sad. Everyone knows War is bad. Not everyone knows why.
And here's just a little scene. Houseparty!
Nice McGibs! Gruesome, but they bring home the message. :) Great job as usual! :bows:
Very depressing. I love the art style; it contrasts nicely with the content.
My personal favorite is the sniper one.
Veyr nice McGibs:)
Excellent, the sniper one made me laugh. :) Also, "...you're not a puppy."
Great art style.
nice, I love black humour. Mind if I post a link to this thread in another forum?
I like Gibs' style. And black humour is always very amusing. Ahh when you have talent, you have talent. :)
