I saw this thread on the Axis History Forum and thought it might be interesting here and I know it is a pointless thread, but this is to give the devs an idea of what army NOT to do.:p My vote goes to the Russians. Their helmet is just plain ugly, hate their peaked caps (IMO the German peaked caps are the way to go), new features such as "budenovka" made them even uglier, ugly Russian padded Parkas , battle dress had a definitely jaunty look, and they had that "pillow" that was wrapped around their chest.
My second and third vote would be French and Danish.
I vote Danish
I like Red Army uniforms-- jaunty pilotkas and ushankas, bedrolls slung rakishly over one shoulder, spiffy cavalry boots--what's not to like? :D
Some of them are just plain horrible. More hirrlble than the ones on the list anyway.
If it was WWI, France would get my vote.
Irwin RommelI vote Danish
I second that..
Even though I'm British, I vote for our uniforms. Potato sacks with a belt in the middle. And nothing much has changed, even today the shirts can remove the skin from nipples, and are the worst thing to iron in the world. I always used to put Band-Aids over my nips on exercise or during the battle fitness test (BFT). The hemet is better now.
I take what n0e says way too seriously

oscar989 ugly Russian padded Parkas .
You would feel different during a Russian winter,I think.:)
i would say US, their uniform are ?puffed? I means, they looks as if they didn't find the good size
Italian got fethers they got to be cool. So i vote.....France, they have does stupit helmets.
Red Army uniform Mod.1935/43 - it's evolution of WWI russian uniform. Maybe he looks little older than german uniform form Hugo Boss ;), but he is realy comfortably uniform. SSH 40 helmet - one of the best WWII helmets. You can use SSH 40 with ushanka hat in winter, for example ;)
And weight... USSR: SSH 40 - 1250 g Germany: M35/M42 - 1300 g UK: Mk.II - 1050 g, Mk.IV - 1177 g USA: M1 - 1350 g (helmet + liner) Italy: M33 - 1200 g Japan: Type 90 - 1100-1200 g France: Mle.1926 - 900 g
Most ugly helmet of WWII - Mk.II. Best helmets of WWII - M1 & SSH 40.
For me most uglyest WWII uniform - french. It's little modifited WWI uniform... Best WWII uniform - british. Very comfortably unifrom, you can use Battledress on the parade and on the battlefield, nice field gear. But helmet...:uhoh: Best winter uniform: before 1943 - russian, 1943 and after - german. Wadding winter uniform of Red Army is very comfortably, but if you need camo, you need additonal camo cloak. German winter suit already have camo color and he is also very comfortably.
