DoD:S came out today at 5:00 Central time. I've been trying to get it to work since then. Every time I start up DoD:S the usual window comes up and says, "Preparing to play Day of Defeat Source". Then a Day of Defeat Source tab appears on my task bar for about two seconds and the the screen minimizes what appears to be DoD:S, and the tab disappears. I have a Radeon 9800 128mb card with up to date drivers (one of the things I tried was to update the drivers), 768mb of RAM, 2.8 GHz processor, and I'm running Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2. I have no idea what could be causing this, please help.
Anyone play it yet? Can you really get the C96?
It could be the latest Steam patch too. It fooked up my Steam games totally and therefore, I havent had the chance to play DoD Source yet. Oh am I mad? Yes, a lot. Damn wankers taking our money but not getting their stuff straight.
Glad COD2 demo came out tho... easied the mood a lot.
Well, I still have to wait till 20 October, but who knows if not longer...:(

It was released at 00.00h CET tonight. After 10 min of update I tried to join some server. All were full, so after 30 min trying to join I decided to create my own one. And Wow! It runs great!! I fall in love with the Garand ironsight. I'm sure I'm going to spend a lot of hours playing DoD Source! :D
Please, don't say anything about the gameplay, it makes waiting much worse.
Anyone got any idea if the wanke... sorry, I mean, our loved Steam developers are releasing a fix patch so people who have the issue like I do could finally pay the game they bought with their god damn money? I have tried all the possible ways to fix it that i've found online, their support tells this and that blabla but nothing works. I still am really pissed off at those blood suckers fucking up a patch like that and now people cant play...
So, if anyone has some advice how to fix Steam's mockup, I'd be glad to hear them.
Sorry for harsh language.
Try deleating ClientRegistry.blob located in "your-drive-name":\Valve\Steam\. Steam will atomaticaly redownload it after restart. You need to remember your account password!!!
Tried that too already. :(
How about reinstalling Day of defeat: Source? If that doesn't works either, try reinstalling Steam. Also have you got the newest video drivers?
Yeah baby I have reinstalled everything, Steam, the games. Games twice to be exact. And yeah I got the newest drivers also. :/
Well, no can do. Just need to wait for the wankers to get up from their fat arses and actually fix something instead of damaging.
