They are fun to play around with, you can use them to encrypt your e-mail (although, of course, a "real" encryption program is favourable if you're hiding sensitive information;)), and they give you a good deal of respect for the thing.
First, try to type in a string that repeats the same word over and over (such as "COOLCOOLCOOLCOOL") and see what ENIGMA turns it into. You're in for a surprise:smokin:.
