Anyone else been watching/following this?
I borrowed the hardback book from a mate in my history class way back in...whenever it was it was released. Last week, my father bought me a copy after seeing it in HMV. After these years I've been trying to find myself a copy, because of what I remember of it the first time round, it was an eye-opening read into the first few months of the Iraqi war.
I just picked up the 7-part series from HMV for £29.99 on an impulse-buy but I'm going to finish the book before I start it.
If it's anything like the standard of quality we got from Band of Brothers it's going to be bloody brilliant.
Its pretty good, but I happen to know a guy who served in that unit in Iraq. He did flat out say that the way they talk in the movie isn't close to real, but its otherwise accurate.
I watched it on HBO sometime last year. I thought it was very good.
I haven't read the book, though.
It's worth to watch. I wouldn't say it's Band of Brothers stuff though! But it's still good.
It's not Band of Brothers in any way, shape or form. But it's still pretty good.
Never said it was Band of Brothers, but if it's up to par with the quality of video, audio etc. of Band of Brothers, then it should be (or is) good.
It may not be an entirely new thing to the US but over here in the UK it only just now seems to be making an appearence. I think FX have only just started showing it on Sundays and the DVD box set came out earlier this week.
I love generation kill (both the book and the series) just for the awesome random conversations.
