This thread is to discuss those maps in FH which are seemingly impossible to win for one side, but you still go on that side anyway for the challenge ;).

Was playing WOLF last night and Omaha Charlie Sector came up, which usually causes me to groan because in recent memory i have never seen an american victory. However i was very surprised and actually felt a little exhileration when my american team was able to break out and hold the middle flag and eventually win the map. Random but hey, its in the off-topic section.

Pegasus, when Allied takes the far bridge flag and loses both flags. And 3 German tanks and a kkrad and 3 mortars start having fun, seeing how much explosive tonnage they can place in a limited area.

Never seen this scenario won by Allied.

Desert Rose is pretty hard for Axis, mainly because all the idiot Tiger fanbois always rush the hill instead of the airfield, and nobody gets the mobile AA and covers them.

Zitadelle for Axis, if I'm in a SU-152. Giggle.

All-time hardest maps to win though? New Midway and Adak for Axis. Seen this happen ONCE, and we did literally everything perfectly. They were still close.

Omaha on the TDP server is frickin impossible. I think its the SSM's, specifically the Buffalo's. I think it basically blunts the Allied attack by providing a "distraction". Nice idea, but it wont work, you never see the middle flag go allied, ever. With Pegasus, I dont beleive that the main spawns are capable??? but ive seen allied win on tickets. Sector 318 and Breakthrough, courtesy of whirbelwinds. Impossible to find and hard on the airforce, leaving axis armor to do as they will. Agree on ADAK, despite its size, its pretty limited for vehicles, and some maps on wolf in particular, need adjustments in tickets and or time remaining. While Phillipines is 100% better as a push, I dont think Ive seen an allied win there since the change.

The Pegasus German main flags are uncap, but if Axis take the flag on the far side of the river, Germans get tanks. If some German rushes the close (to Allied main spawn) flag and grabs it and those tanks get across, game over.

I've seen 318 and Breakthrough go both ways, although if Germans take and hold the town and set up a steel wall (I've counted 18 tanks in one game) it's almost impossible unless you have ace arty, pilots and M36/M10 gunners. Breakthrough, regardless of who wins it, is usually just very close. I've started liking it just for its back-and-forth length (and have seen Axis just as boxed into their main.)

I actually don't care anymore who wins on Philippines (have seen both since the change), but it is way cool that the action isn't just restricted to the islands anymore, but extends to all the flags. We've had pushes as Allies where we got two tanks to re-take the airfield amphibiously -- very fun!

BZZZZZT! Omaha is easy to win. The ony problem on omaha is that it needs team work and players to actually move up the beach instead of hiding like little girls afraid to virtually die.

Hm I think it always depends on the how good your team is. Often on maps like Operation Nordwind or Kharkov Outskirts it's hard to win as allys. (Most time I play Allys;)) But with some teamwork you can win and it always feels good to win then:naughty:

I dont think Ive ever seen that happen in game, but I imagine its awful. I have one goal, actually 2... the second we get across the bridge I am engi-only for tank busting, but mostly I want to sneak up on those bastards on mortars and have my way with them!!! Awesome when you can finally do it. Ive actually come to like that map alot, however the last time I played, that bridge was impossible to get through. My move is mostly to get the traktor parked somewhere on the bridge and use as cover, while its alive anyway. If I can have anything though it would be to make that a night map.

Battle of Stalingrad as Russian. Damn near impossible because your team pisses around making suicide attacks on the MGs and can't be bothered to give arty gunners like me a spot.
