It looks good right now but i have my doubts. Bf42 was far under my expectations (horrible AI, not optimized and, mostly, unrealistic) and i have the feeling it will be very similar to DC (unfortunately)... Also i dont like the setting : a shitty scenario of Usa invading the Middle East (how original). Why didn't they do this about, lets say, Korea? Of course i will buy it only when there will be many interesting mods (Forgotten Hope!!).

HL2 took like 5 years, or something to develop, right.

Also BF2 will be worth buying, no matter what you say, but if it doesnt include AI i wont get it, even though most people find AI boring, I find that compared to smacktard filled pubs, they are a much better choice.

I think BF2 will be a lot worse than they say it'll be. For some reason, I think many will only be able to run servers between 70-90 players, instead if the "100+" that EA promised. I get the idea you "could" run 100 players. Yeah, if you have an uber computer that matches an uber server. Like in bf1942, you have the ability yo join 64 player servers. But they lag like shit, and the majority has to use 40 max servers.

Also, they say you have the ability yo destroy all kinds of stuff, from walls to objects to bridges. I think they are just fitted objects for each map. For example the bridge as a bottleneck, the wall where the T72 breaks through, and here and there some barrels and sandbags. I'd prefer to be able to wreck buildings partially, like in CoD, and punch through all small objects like walls, trees, etc. EA just presents us the "cool" gadget stuff, such as "Commander mode", "Laser targeting", all that bs that's just intended to attract the masses (read newbies). I'd rather have important and realistic physics that apply to the whole battlefield, instead if fitted objects.

These two subjects are for me the most important, the depth of gameplay and the amount of players. I could give a crap about new graphics like tanks with ten layers of skins and this and that new blood splats. For all I care, we need some new explosion and smoke effects, and use the other old bf1942 graphics. Because for me, it's all about the gameplay.
