Hopefully this isn't considered spam. The anti-spam police are cracking down as of late so its hard to tell whats spam and whats not. But I remember someone posted a cut or something they got and it wasn't deleted, just moved.

Tonight, I didn't really feel like workout out but I did anyway. Well, I started out by benching 140. I never got through one rep.

I don't know what happened, but I lifted it off the rack, and my arms just collapsed causing 140 pounds to hit my chest, roll down and hit my stomach. Its weird cause lifting that weight is nothing new. I've lifted more so, who knows.

Anyway, now my whole arm is sprained, chest hurts and still trying to catch my breathe.

Chestpains hint that you cracked or broke a rib or two. Had that quite often during my Motocross times. Nothing to worry. It's just painfull, so take it easy for a few days. Sudden loss of strenght ib your arms can happen, also nothing to worry. :) But hey don't take my word, I'm no doc, just an engineer. ^^

What engineering? If it's mechanical, he had a loose strut. If it's structural, his calcium structure wasn't sound. If it's electronic, he had a EMI. If it's networking, he had a sudden packet loss which results in dropped connections coupled with a DoS from the neural network.

You've probably either had too long of a break and overestimated your abilities, or neglected your warm-up.

It's always good to have someone else provide a safeguard - a cracked rib is not that bad, but think what would happen if you fumble so badly that (knock on wood) the barbell starts falling along a collision vector with your throat...

Dumbass, your suppose to have a spotter, that's the whole point of one, to prevent injury.

Besides, Bench press is the most stupid thing you could do, Just do push-ups, same damn thing, but better.

You don't need a spotter if the weight your lifting is in the range of self capability. I don't know what happened, like I said, my arms just collapsed without warning. It was so fast a spotter wouldn't have been able to catch the weight.

And I think benching is stupid so I'm going back to dumbbells only. Dumbbells give you a really good intense workout, while benching damages your joints and really doesn't even feel like your getting a workout.

I'm lucky it was an incline bench.. if it was a normal bench press then it would have landed on my throat.

Well 25lb landing on your neck can and most likely will kill you. Imagine what 140 would do.
