...But damnit, this guy can model.

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

Part 1

Part 2

He's insane. I recently got into all this modelling stuff and finished my first real go at a model - a 1/35 M5A1 by AFV. I have to admit, it's ace fun and I'm hooked. Definitely going to continue with it.

I'm convinced this guy is a wizard or something. I wish I had his talent.

What a shame it is only 1:48. I prefered to butcher the 1:35 series from Tamiya when I was a boy. Tamiya is the best, and the detail on the 1:35 series is even greater. In my case there was just not much left of the details after piling ten different color coats.

I just browsed the Tamiya site and realized that half of the models I have/had are not available anymore. What a pain. I expected a larger amount of models to be available.

If anyone is into this, I can recommend Verlinden Productions for World War 2 based diorama accessories. In times prior to the world wide web you were waiting ages for these when ordered. Best quality. Nowadays I found their website.

I had these:

I once bought these three american soldiers. Glue and paint. So, i started off, glued one leg to the torso, and after that I found it boring. So those undone models are laying somewhere in the basement.

I personally prefer my $6000 1/4 scale King Tiger. EDIT: That's 6600 POUNDS. So more like $10000 Radio Controlled Model Tanks - Russian T80, T90, T34, German Panther, Jagdpanther, Tiger 1, King Tiger, M4 Sherman Howitzer, Sherman Firefly If you have the cash to pay for these monsters, do it. They're awesome. Some are big enough to ride on. And these aren't your standard drive around your bedroom tanks. These are designed to get stuck in the mud and still work.

Agreed that 1/35 is the best scale. I may try 1:48, seems fun.

Really into Allied armour/AFVs so an M8, Sherman or Lee may be next for me.

The Tamiya site doesn't seem to show the older models in 1:35 scale, only their new range. But they are out there...
