I was curious if someone could please tell me where I could find some footage of the Battle of the Bulge. I am doing a school project and am in the process of making a film about this battle. I was told that the fellows at the FH forums could help me out. Thanks.

Here's the search result for "Battle of the Bulge" at YouTube: YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

Try just googling. Youtube also holds some good things, look up the series "Battlefields 2" on it. The guy GD Houston has hosted the entire series, and it contains tons of footage that isn't really ever shown to the public, including actual combat (in other words, when you see someone tumble...yeah, they actually got hit....very haunting). I'll also pm you a link to an entire collection of the German propaganda newsreels. Its all dated, so you just need to find the right dates that should have footage from the offensive.

For the most part though, just google around. There's some famous footage of german tanks and FJ rolling around, but I haven't seen much of american footage from it. Considering the chaos that the battle was, its not hard to imagine that any footage would have been long lost from the american perspective.

Not American perspective are the Wochenschau newsreels. They're pure German propaganda but they have plenty of film footage. Here's an Ardennes one:YouTube - Battle of the Bulge (Ardennes Offensive, Dec 1944) - part 1 part 2 of that : YouTube - Battle of the Bulge (Ardennes Offensive Dec 1944) - part 2

Here are two American "official" War Department newsreels (yes, also propaganda, but great footage):YouTube - Battle of the Bulge (Ardennes Offensive Dec 1944) - part 2 and YouTube - Battle of Ardenne 1944

From a British postwar program: YouTube - Tanks in the offensive of the Ardennes cap.1

If you want really good high quality footage, then you should get ken Burn's The war. Also an excellent documentary, and well worth watching all 14 hours. :)

Thank you all very much for posts. I have acquired quite a bit of footage, and the project is coming along quite nicely.

Again, thanks.
