RPGs as of late get on my nerves, standing toe to toe with your enemy, exchanging blows for ages, while a guy in the background heals you over and over, the market needs something new, instead of all these levels you have to grind for weeks to become uberpowerful, yet not needing any skill. Imagine a masker swords man in RL, spent all his life learning the art, yeah hes gonna kick ass 1 on 1 or 3 on 1 against teens who have just picked up their first rusty weapons, but if you send 10 at him, he will be overpowered and killed (at a cost), but in games like Wow and EQ you can send thousands of noobs at a level 60 player and they won't even dent his armour, no matter the skill of the players, or what angle they come from, all the level 60 has to do is tab 1, tab 1, tab 1.

I look forward to a game when people who have been playing for ages can hunt with and be killed by younger players with skill and surprise, no more levels. Lets say a hybrid RPG/FPS set in WW2 based on FH but with Exp, 1 shot 1 kill, but they guys who play a lot get skill up with Exp, faster reload time, faster repair rate, greater accuracy, speed, toughness and so on but can still be killed if a brand new newbie appears behind him.

My personal dream is an RTS, Alternative World War II game, in an semi-advanced C&C gameplay.

Something would lead up to WWI not really ending but more like turning into a cold war status, until Germany attacks again, early 1930. That creates an acceptable reason on why the war, the weapons of war, and the results of it, are diffirent than now. It also gives us 1930-40 setting fans something new.. uncertainy ( spelled? :p ) Operation Overlord for example.. the whole setting has changed, and therefor you have no clue if a similar operation would succeed or not. (the first time you play it atleast..) Operations are pre-planned regarding who will win. It's as if I were to basicly rewrite history, and you play by that history I wrote. You can play missions that might fail, ending in your retreat, or even death.

It would have FMV's (full motion videos), similar to the old C&C games, and in those FMV's you can see other commanders during a briefing, for example, which, if the game would get popular enough, you get to play in Mission packs/Expansions.

Just something I've been playing around with for 2 years now.. daydreaming and stuff :)

Fuzzy Bunny;3798244Something small, fast, fun, versatile enough to be played in different ways from a browser, a downloadable software, a full interface, a cell phone. Can be played in as simple or complex a manner as you like; gradually gets you into added layers of complexity with time and experience (and without undue risk exposure versus higher level entities or players.) Doesn't require huge amounts of time, has good rewards for the time played. Think about it, not so easy.

Since I'm so obsessed with world war 2 and only world war 2, my game will be almost exactly along the lines of Badseed's but based on the real world where the game would cycle through the Battles in chronological order but only according to the campaign that you're playing, so that it wouldn't jump around from Pacific, Western Campaign, Eastern, etc... However, they would not be limited to the battles of history and the generals in the game will be able to alter the history of the war. There will be no prescribed outcomes! Success will depend on a huge team effort.

Bots will be an integral part of the game and they will represent a whole slew of different types of people. For example, you can have some in factories, which your enemy will be wanting to kill, and you'll, obviously, have to protect them and possibly move them further away when your enemy nears your factories. They can also be in the role of maintaining supply lines or, even, on the front lines supplying ammunition to Pak guns or machine guns. These are a few of the jobs required of bots and will seem infintecimally small in the grand scheme of the game that I have planned.

Real-BadSeed;3797220The game would run in realtime with day/night cycles, realistic weather, and you would need to eat and sleep (thats right for 8 hrs per night, or suffer effects). Also the game would need to have really good physics with the ability to manipulate objects in the world. So you can build defences and barricades and what not, also setup traps.

I would definitely have this as well.

People can command both other people and bots, depending on rank, and "robot banzai" charges will be possible. More important assets will be entrusted to people, only the right ones though, to keep out of harms way. I think that all types of people can meld into this game. Hyper-active children can be in the infantry until they settle down and are able to concentrate and varying levels of command and responsibility can be handed out according to how much people want or can handle.

At the top of the food chain, there will be presidents, fuhrers, prime ministers, royal families, heroes of the people, etc... who will call all the big shots then you'll have generals and or whoever would have been under them according to influence on the decision making. A historically correct mold will be put in place for people to follow, though I can see this changing if it does not work out.

Environments will be fully interactive, you can dig holes, make defences, make mountains, burst a damn, etc... You have a carte blanch! It will be a real world to the limits of technology, and yes this will come out when I'm about 70... I mean, one campaign can be a whole bunch of people's life work but this is a dream thread isn't it?

Physics will be mimicking real life as much as possible, enough said. Everything in the game will follow these laws!

A cool feature that I will like to implement will be the ability to bring out the engineer in everyone so that they can try to design weapons, other buildings, tanks, pretty much anything in an easy to use editor. Tanks and other weaponry will be subject to time constraints which will be set by the Generals or supreme commander and made by the bots. It will be like the war all over again! Only the best designs will be produced in prototype and later on in full scale production and will be scrutiny to the higher ups, oh joy the reality of it all!

Fanboys will, I hope, flock in from every nook and cranny of the world to influence this virtual world. What-if scenarios will be put to the test add-inf-an-item(if that's how it's spelt?...)!

Also, fill in any blanks from my speech that would have been there during the war and my game will have it!
