This particular story has been circulating the news lately, and If true, I honestly can't believe this. I pray my country is smart enough to argue it.
....god I hate the UN. Don't worry Archi. The UN has proven time and time again that its impossible for them to enforce anything. So it will just sit there and be ignored, like everything else the UN does.
Don't really have time right now to read that article, need to get some sleep. will perhaps tomorrow.
Von Mudra;4817465....god I hate the UN. Don't worry Archi. The UN has proven time and time again that its impossible for them to enforce anything. So it will just sit there and be ignored, like everything else the UN does.
The thought behind the UN is IMO great, if only it would work. With for example the Veto prevents it from working effectively.
the U.N. General Assembly urges nations to provide "adequate protections" in their laws or constitutions against "acts of hatred, discrimination, intimidation and coercion resulting from defamation of religions and incitement to religious hatred in general."
Sounds good, and your thread title is a clumsy manipulation, Archimonde. Von Mudra, cool, tell your congressman to give up the USA veto in the UN and perhaps it will become useful
I have a better idea, let's eliminate the corrupt, useless institution altogether.
And yes, veto power is part of the problem, it should exist at all in that organization, if it didn't, it would help some, but still, the uselessness of the organization would still be profound.
So, Lobo, your.. for the U.N? Or you don't give a shit? Sorry but your post somewhat miss-lead me.
On a side note;
The U.N is a complete fail. Like stated above, they sound good 'in theory', but in reality, they provide nothing from themselves accept a hassle.
I never actually, completely understood what is it they do. No, not what they claim they do, but what do they do? Personally I've seen little to nothing from them, and if I have, I have doubts it was successful.
As all american patriotic conservative individuals, you hate UN and talk lot of crap about it, that's the best proof UN is sorely needed...
Obviously it doesn't work, major reason: the veto, wich leads to double moral standards. Study Palestine conflict for practic masterclass of my thesis.
Nothing more, I was just lurking and this was too much of a bait...
Yeah, I hate the UN due to its uselessness. If they can come up with a UN that actually can accomplish what it sets out to do, and backs it up, and doesn't make lamebrained edicts like the one posted above, I'd support it.
And we're obviously in agreement on the veto Lobo, but as usual, you can never admit when we are in agreement.
Everybody has enough IQ here to figure out we are in agreement about the veto, vm, but if this is important for your self-esteem: yes, we agree on the veto...and disagree about the rest: it's not more corrupt than any other human organization with access to power and money, and this includes your favourite organizations, wichever they are: GOP, NRA...dunno, Asociation of american reenactors?. And it's not so useful like it was designed, true, but you represent an ideology that is actively fighting against an useful UN since 50 years ago, because this means you can't be the King of the World animore.
btw, sire apple erased his post, screwing up my scream of "conservative conspiracy!"
Ha, GOP and NRA...don't make me laugh. The republican party is full of corrupt liars and RINO idiots, while the NRA has far too many wackjobs.
I would be FINE with a useful version of the UN, most people would, but I just don't see that every HAPPENING, honestly.
