please dont move this thread to another forum becasue no one on any of the other tech support forums have replied, perhaps more people visit these off topic ones

anyway I have a Logitech Extreme 3d pro Joystick and it is like 2 years old or something like that, and I know its not my joystick thats screwed up its bloody BF2!

it works fine in all other games (including bf1942) but the problem with BF2 is that I cant seem to configure it, I have tried everything I even reinstalled bf2 and all the logitech drivers and it keeps acting stupid

so this is what it does, when I try and set my controls so that the plane will pitch forward its works, but when I try and set it to roll right it only recognizes the motion as the same motion as the pitch forward command and it tells me that I cant have 2 of the same buttons, and I have sat there for like 45 mins trying to be as carefull as possible making it so I roll the joystick perfectly right, but it only recognizes the whole joystick as one button (not counting all the sorrounding buttons, like the trigger etc..)

and ya im just so pissed at BF2 I dont even want to play it anymore (well I would if I could get the joystick controls to work) but whats really worrying me is that I know I will have the same problem when FH2 comes out!! :( and I love flying and it would really suck if I would have to fly with a keyboard and mouse, or just be limited to ground force classes

anyone know what I can do? Has anyone else had a problem like this before? And why does it work for bf1942 but not for BF2!!!! :( BF2 is newer it should be less gay

Yeah, I get this too in BF2 and I have a cheapo generic 4-button, 3-axis joystick. The way around that I have found is reset your controls to default, start at the bottom of the controls list and set the joystick that way. I also found that I had to be quite violent to get it to recognise some of the movements.

Hi Guys! Gatord ,have u tried without installing the logitech driver?(works for me!) And make sure u have no other joysticks, gamepads,or paddles installed while playing. For activation problems; For example Rudder Left> First twist rudder to left>than press mouse on setup Left Rudder It works OK for me. Greetings

I did the same thing as Mr. Cheese. I reset them to default and started with the one that was giving me the problems.
