I was watching the 6 episodes in a row this week-end (a 13 hours home theatre trek:)), and although after searching about it I found that's it's a known fact, I didn't notice until then that Han Solo and Chewbacca were carrying a MG42 in episode IV. I'm a Starwars fan but not a huge one : I don't collect any toys or anything, yet I love watching the movies every 2 years or so, listening to the soundtracks and I've had lots of PC games from the franchise. So I thought that people playing FH and who know Starwars a bit would be interested in this. Before getting into games so detailed like H&D or FH, I don't think I would have noticed that. I guess that's what the stormtroopers carry in Mos Eisley, and Han Solo's blaster.

The Stormtroopers E-11 Blaster rifle is based on the L2A3 Sterling SMG (with stock folded forward), and the Rebel Blaster Rifle used in Episode VI: Return of the Jedi is (IIRC) based on the AK-47. The Jawa Blaster is based on a Lee Enfield No.1 Mk.III, with an original EY Grenade Laucher cup fitted on the end. Jawa Blaster: attachment.php?attachmentid=42625&stc=1&d=1133180044

Technically speaking...

Han Solo's pistols in the three films are based on a Broomhandle Mauser The Stormtrooper blasters and the rebel blasters from ANH are Sterlings (rebel one has a modified front end) The T21 rifle some Stormtroopers carry is a Lewis Gun Another Stormtrooper rifle is made from an MG34 The rifles used by the rebels in ESB and RotJ are made from MP44s (yes original ones!) \one of the Jawa blasters is based on an enfield, another on some sort of 19th c. rifle.

I think thats all of them but may well have missed one out :)

You're certainly right, even without checking back at the DVD I can remember they look alike. Do you know how they modeled this rifle in Galactic Conquest ? They based themselves on Dice's Stg44:nodding:

Now it clearly shows that Third Reich had connections with The Empire and who knows, maybe Lord Darth Vader himself?:naughty:
