Well I honestly dont want to start a thread that will turn into a hate thread for microsoft, so read this BEFORE you post. ONLY POST WHAT IS RELEANT TO MY QUESTION OR SOMEONE ELSE's!!! I uninstalled microsoft service pack 2 because it screwed up my internet and heaven behold my computer crashed and took a day of sifting through the computer and tolerating my brother to get it online again, now my computer is slow, weak and pathetic. What is wrong, how can I fix it, adn do I have to reinstall WSP2.
MS SP2 is such an involved upgrade (not the word that I'd use) that it totally integrates itself into the OS at every level. Also it integrates itself into IE, Office, DirectX, and everythign else you use from microsoft.
To be blunt, it won't uninstall like an old copy of Half Life!
You're gonna have to format your PC to get it running like it did before SP2.
p.s. I've noticed that Sp2 has caused my IE to hang a bit, and generally become sluggish as well. I'm guessing that in the next month or two they will address this issue with a patch or two.
havnt noticed any big problems with it ...
Some people have been reporting huge, system-breaking issues with SP2. Others report that it installed and functions like a breeze.
Seems to be more or less totally hit-and-miss, but I'm afraid that Blistez is correct: a format/install is just about the only solution to a problem "upgrade."
its all involved with the new security issues, some programs were not designed with newer security possablitys, so the programs crap out. Most is not Microsofts fault. although there are some issues and bugs with the service pack, but the majority are the programs that were not designed with updates to the operating system
a good joke i heard though "the only thing microsoft will make that does not suck, is a vacume cleaner"
Hahaha! Nice one Dinky Duck!
