Well over the last 3 weeks I went on a tank model building binge, Finishing my Tamiya King Tiger that had been shelved and then a Tiger 1 late model, a Panther A, and then I just bought an IS-3. All of the tanks are the same scale and amazing how small the IS3 is! Its hull sits very low to the ground, its turret is very flat and low, and its shorter in over all hight then the panther. Over all its much smaller than the panther and yet its turret has thicker armor than the King:eek: It only weighs ~43 tons and it still has ~230 mm frontal turret armor. There are a lot of exploits and bugs I have forgotten to list but these are the biggies. Regarding firepower I presume that an IS3 would rip the turrets off any German tank with its HE and be basically impenetrable by even my personal favorite the KwK43.

It is worth noting that the IS3 did not see combat in Europe and that its first use was possibly in Manchuria. It did appear at the victory/circlejerk parade in Berlin for Stalin though lol

Those ruskies were f*&king h4xx0rs!

Still have not touched my Brumbar from last summer......Would like to try a Stuka next I think since all I have done is Panzers. Wife is kinda fired up about doing the King Tiger next and since we team up on them I guess I will have to wait on my Stuka. :(

Do you do dioramas too? I hadn't really paid any attention to them until the last year or so, but I have since been absolutely knocked out at the amount of painstaking detail that obviously goes into some of them.

No I just put them together. I don't have the patience to paint so I just leave that alone.

Coolness. I would have hated to have come up on that ISU-3 with anything less than a suitcase nuke.
