I must admit I am pretty much in the same situation. I haven't played FH2 for weeks, mostly because the graphics blow on my laptop, but really the true reason is that I don't feel the urge of playing this game. The addiction of playing FH1 I had for months in the good olde times just isn't there. Is it because I'm getting older? I don't know.. I know for sure that like many here I don't like the BF2 engine, even if the devs made the game look wonderful and greatly enhanced the game play. However, its just not the same as it used to be in the golden ages of 0.6 and 0.7.

I must say I liked FH1 better, in fact, is there any FH servers left? I miss my katana, mosin and panthers :(

I also havent played much..

Mostly I think its cause of north africa. I dont like it, but truthfully I only care only about Pacific..

That..and random CTD's I get. Ugh. When I played for the first time in over a week last night, I played 10min, got about 7 kills in a Crusader..then got a CTD. Didnt care enough to go back in..

I didn't make it!

While it;s a great mod, I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling to really get into it. When I do play, I love it and get sucked right in, but something always seems to spoil for me; stupid team mates, team killing, unbalanced teams and rubbish commanders FH1 was such an epic monster, it will take time to really build up to that type of level, and I'm fairly certain in a few years time we'll all be hooked on FH2, as the community boils down to those that really appreciate it, while the idiots move onto different games.

Its a great mod , but i think only covering north africa is a bit of a lackluster , it already was not my fav continent in FH1 but usually it was 1-2 maps in a row at max before switching.

Im a tankdriver for life , reason i loved the battlefield series was that you could fly and drive stuff next to infantry , and north africa there is a small selection of tanks , which especially on the german side cant keep up with the english quality .

So im not really into infantry fighting , unless its a town like in breakthrough that you cant conquer with just tanks , its great to bring infantry with your truck , but yea desert means wide open spaces with some points in the middle of no where to cap , where you are dead if not in a tank since there is little anti armor utility as infantry.

Also realism got notched up a bit as well , not in a good way to be honest , not being able to jump into an enemy tank , or the view of the pilots is very limited now (im fine with removing 3rd view from tanks ) .

The BF engine is so unoptimized and so buggy , i told it many times before bugs were fixed in BF2142 but never in BF2 while they share the same engine , also the BF2142 one feels alot more optimized.

In the end we need to write this stuff down in suggestions forum , my guess is the next big release will cover all of the western front early and late along with italy , so thats something to look forward to :)

Most nights when I sit at my pc and decide what to play I hover over the FH2 icon and I feel some guilt that the devs put in such monumental effort yet I don't really want to play it. I just can't put up with sluggish performance I get with anything BF2 related on my pc. I also suspect my passion for the subject is starting to wane. I've spent most of the last couple of years, watching movies, documentaries, reading books, websites and playing games about World War 2. Red Orchestra, Il2, Silent Hunter, Day of Defeat, FH...etc Wooly needs a break :lookaround:
