Well whats to say, me and a buddy went up to Vermont to catch a few turns on the snowboards... on sunday we rode at Sugarbush, Vermont for the first time. Had to say it was great, that mountain is a pretty unique place, but I need to see more. On Monday we went to Killington. So we had Tuesday to decide which mountain of the two we'd rather see. Tuesday morning rolls up and we flip on the TV, first stop... the weather channel. Expected snowstorm on wednesday with accumulations of 19-36"!!!! Holy crap, got on the phones called the bosses, the loved ones, and said "Need one more day, see you on Thursday!!! And promptly rolled back over to go back to sleep, knowing, we're sore, its bony up there right now, and there is a shitload of snow to get tomorrow. Snow starts at about 11pm Tuesday night. By morning there was probably 12 inches of snow on the ground. Got in the truck and headed for Killington, we both agreed we'd rather go to Sugar, but with the snow already underway and the forcast saying its going to get even heavier, we bagged the 50 mile trip for the 10 mile one and went to Killington instead. The conditions we great. Ive ridden the deep stuff out western US, but never had I seen this deep snow in the North East. I gotta say, it was a little bittersweet. Anyone that lives from Washinton DC and north knows what a Nor'Easter is. Its basically a storm system that can reach hurricaine forces from time to time, given the right conditions. And it means DUMP!!! Put your shinebox away and get a snow shovel! The totals at Sugar were 4 FEET OF SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Killington got about 37". But the downfall is the gale force winds. Not much fun when its 0 degrees (F) and 60 mph sustained winds. I turned one corner and got hit with one of those, not fun!!! But in the end... I'd do it again!! A pic from Sugar's site.
That looks so damn perf but you still need to come up here to Whistler or at least check the locals i.e seymour, grouse, and cypress.
Thats on the table right now as a matter of fact. It's never really left. I beleive that's my next big mountain experience. Either that or one more trip to SE Colorado to visit a friend who's wife is having some breathing problems. I expect him to move back east within the next 2 years, so I'll need to get out there one more time before he leaves.
Yeah, I'm heading up there during the march break since somepeople we know are going to let us borrow their appartment!! I'm going to invite as many people as I can. :P ...as I've said before :)

Wish I could see your pics, Id need a login to view them. Anyways cmon, there is no contest between skiing and snowboarding... We crash we roll and we keep going... You crash... now go back up and clean up the yardsale!!! Just kidding, skiers are invaluable to me in powder days. Us riders need you guys to make tracks in the snow so we dont come to a screeching halt when it flattens out. Is there another way you can post those pics?
