Series Service Pack 2 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 (do I need to tell you any more?) will it run on my computer and do I need to upgrade anything else? please respond! Thx!

:)You want upgarde the system... I must say that you have an old version of the Dell"Dimension 4550" cause Dell upgraded the system i think two times. at first they build in the Pentium 2.53Ghz Processor and at the end the processor with 2,8 Ghz - I think they also changes the "Dram" Frequency to 333Mhz - so look it up with a Sys-info Tool... I must say the system has not much power for games coming next...don´t be frighten:) but we want to look at your system with a realistic view. But back to your question - the video card. The Radeon 9600pro was the generation before the X600´series. I build in and configured a lot of systems and i must say, that i recommend the card to play bf-1942. U´r card is not supportet by BF2 cause it does not support shader modell 1.4. I want to be honest - maybe it´s better tu upgrade you´r whole system -->the Ram is also not enough...1 GB is advisable. When u try an update so look for a Geforce 6600 or better a 6600GT - the difference is big but the Price is also higher(120-6600) -->but with the 9600pro -->u will have no fun at BF2 -->really! when u need an advice for a system upgrade -->just ask me...:smokin:

Agreed with benseras; a GeForce 6600 or 6600GT would be much better for BF2, plus the price difference isn't that much if you know how much more performance it will give you. As already mentioned: upgrade to at least 1GB of ram (1,5 recommended) this will also improve you daily computing experience not just gaming smilie.gif Like he already mentioned; your system is fading away, though I know not everyone is in the right position to upgrade smilie.gif

I don't have the money for high-end cards. :( but would it run? (the card i mentioned) on my comp? will it work with 512 mb RAM? cause when i got my comp it have 1 stick of 256 and when my fan broke they gave me a discount on 256mb of ram so i got it and now have 512 if I get 1 gig i would need 2 512mb sticks and that would cost more money :( also I don't care if i have to run it on low settings, I just wanna play bawl.gif

I think it will not run good... Your processor is not very fast... Your Ram is not enough... The Radeon 9600pro isn´t that what you expect - this card is pretty good for bf-1942 -->but for Bf2 i can´t recommend:rolleyes: So maybe you wait a while and safe your money for a better Card...or you make a complete system upgrade -->OK money...but you need to change only the mainboard,RAm,CPU,Cooler,Graka - maybe the powersupply... That costs around---> Mainboards Sockel 754

K8N (ArtNr: GIEA06) K8N (NVIDIA nForce3 250) € 64,-

CPU Sockel 754

Athlon 64 3000+ (ArtNr: HIDA27) Athlon 64 3000+ (2000 MHz) € 114,-

DIMM 1 GB Kit PC3200 (ArtNr: IAID2C) DIMM 1 GB Kit € 90,- MSI 6600-AGP - €120 ------------------ 390,- Just an example... The difference will be very Big!

Where u from? -->in Dollar it will remain approximately the same...maybe a view differences -->but really don´t invest to much money in your old system... The only thing i can suggest -->try the 6600 or "6600GT" but the new cards scale withe processors -->so maybe the cpu could brake the ViedoCard... But when you buy only the Card -->you can take i away to a new system -->but i would suggest really a system Upgrade cause u use an AGP-Card that will dissapear next...so that there are only PCI-Express cards in the stores...

Do not buy any EVGA stuff, I had a 6800GT from them and it died on me 2 days ago,it was not heat that did it, it was water cooled using non-contuctive fluid, running at 42c under load,it was the crappy way it was made,I mailed it back to them and ordered a 6800 ultra OC from BFG today. When I was running the 6800GT 256 I was getting about 100 Fps on BF2 at full settings running 1280 res,not overclocked. I will post if the ultra does better or the same maybe save ya about 100 bucks. If your going to just get a new rig I can give you the spects I have and what it cost,I can run any game maxed out and I load up in the top 3 all the time with FH even though I run a P4,so don't let the AMD hipe get to ya just yet.
