For a new hobby.
My parents banned me from videogames last week, and they say that this ban will last till school ends...
I get pretty bored on the weekends now, and need something new to do, preferably interactive, fun, and self rewarding. I already read and play sports but that's not enough for me.
Anything WWII related would be excellent, though preferably not something like Axis and Allies or models (really bad with my hands...) Cost isn't too much of a problem, since my parents are desperate for anything to stop my video gaming...
Moderators please don't move this thread. I want to hear from fellow FHers since they most likely share the same interests as me.

Try building some models, I remember when I did that, get some legos and make some planes/models. Murder your parents so you can play video games again.

Read MORE, get into Fiction. There's more to the printed world than just history books. PM me if interested.
There's always more sports out there. PLAY FRISBEE! There's nothing more relaxing than a day at the park with a disc and some friends. Although it is winter...hmm.
Get yourself into a good television show. There are tons of good serieses out there, pm for recommendations. :) (only to be used in connection with the sports one, lol).
Learn a musical instrument? Guitar gets all the chicks, you'll thank me in a couple of years.
I'm stumped. I don't really have a winter hobby per se, unless you count essays and going to the gym.
Im easing myself into Turtledove...
Ive tried music before... didn't work out so well.
My parents are ultra restrictive on what kind of TV I can watch.
About the model trains, I'm seriously bad with my hands, I took a Wood Shop class once and my birdhouse came out extremely disturbing. :p
I guess I'm stuck with the knitting ;)

Ouch. What'd you do Foodie? Spoil that perfect GPA with an A- ?
My online choices for WWII you are probably aware of: 1) BBC's "People's War" project ( I hate that obligatory socialist-speak which the Beeb has come to love), which consists of first-hand accounts of all things British in WWII; 2) even though it is Axis-related and thus outside your parameters, you can find a surprisingly high level of both expertise and discussion at the Axis History Forum.

Legos? lol, That sucks about tv restrion though man. every weekend I can spend all day watching sorpanos or all the godfathers :). Maybe look at colleges, start applying early . Play broomball, go to your friends house and play video games. Play video games behind your parents backs. Reenact battles with action figures. Get into art, drawing tanks and shading them accurately, something...

Im taking some high school courses and they both dropped to B's in the past month, so my parents got really freaked out cause they want me to get the "maximum" score (6 points for A, 5 for B, 4 for C, etc.) available for them.

I seriously do not want to go into modeling because you need art talent, a welding/soldering kit, handyman skills, etc.
I'm trying to get some Turtledove at the library but it's checked out :p
