We must be slipping, I assume you all know about Jesse caught on camera murmuring something to the guy next to him. Saying how Obama talks down to black people and how he'd like to cut his nuts off. Personally, i think this plays well for Obama. +90% of the Black population will vote dem. Jesse Jackson not liking Barack distances him from that set and may help bring in white swing voters. And how about the possibility of all this being completely intentional? discuss.

When I read it, I didn't think much about it politically, more about how damn funny it is that a reverend wants to cut a guys nuts off, I thought it was hilarious. I also liked how Jesse Jackson Jr. just trashed the shit out of his dad and said how angry he was hah.

As for politics, theres no way this can hurt obama. Help him? Maybe, Hurt him? No way.

Speaking of reverands, on cnn they had Sharpton on, who REALLY had a glimmer in his eye, like a shark that smelled blood, I was revelling in it. Also, when I first heard of the story, I started hitting the usual sites. CNN wouldnt even touch the beginning of it, their first headline was "Jackson Apologizes for Off Hand Remark". Everyone else was enjoyiong the root of the issue.

Isn't Jesse Jackson estranged from his son? If so, doesn't that make him one of those "deadbeat dads" Obama was railing against?

BTW Moose, Obama is selling you and your "change" down the river in pursuit of centrist votes:

Obama's surveillance vote spurs blogging backlash - CNN.com

No change for you!

I saw the story first on BBC and like the second line was "Cut his nuts off", so proud.

Meh, few cared because it's not like a real minister lost his temper and goofed. They understand JJ is merely a "reverend of convenience", and uses that title only as a way to extort corporations into making him a member of their boards of directors, and "donating" tens of millions of $ to his never-audited "PUSH Foundation.

People just don't care about the old buffoon any more. Lobo is right, the new buffoon, "the ugly one" as Lobo called him (who is a ROC as well), grabs more press.

Interesting analysis of this on NPR's Diane Rehm show yesterday. The weekly "reporter's roundup" hour had a discussion about the virtual exclusion of Jackson, Sharpton, and other "activists" from the Obama campaign.

Generational, they said; Obama wants no identification with these has-been firebrands. He's looking for the next generation. And indeed, he has Jackson's son in his camp, a son who has largely repudiated his father.
