Scientist recently released a scientific paper reporting that the Hubble space telescope discovered a "space object" which just "appeared out of nowhere". Hubble: Hubble Finds Unidentified Object in Space, Scientists Puzzled

Okay, I guess that's neat. Oh, there's more? After it was observed a few months....it disappeared again. Hmmm. They really don't describe what the "object" is, uh, or was, and they apparently can't at this point. But wait, it gets even better. Here's the scientists' money quote: "We suggest that the transient (object) may be one of a new class."

Huh? Did you get that? It's unknown to science. Cue The Twilight Zone music, please, as I try to get the hair on the back of my neck to lie down. For this thing to be something never before seen, so unusual scientists don't even know what they're seeing - that is spooky good. I think.

Isn't this sort of the way Independence Day started?

"That's no moon... It's a space station!"

Seriously though, finding things of which we do not know what they are is always far more interesting than things of which we do know what they are.

You know, it would be hilarious if it was some space dust....but right now it's kind of fun-spooky like when Michael Myers suddenly rises from behind the couch after Jamie Lee Curtis, and we, think she killed him....
