On the 4th of July a black family in Akron, Ohio was attacked, in their front yard, by a gang of white youths who shouted "It's a white world!" and "This is our world!" Police say 6 members of the Marshall family, including the mother and her 15-year-old daughter were attacked by up to 50 white teenagers who punched and kicked them as they tried and failed to shield themselves from the blows. The father was knocked to the ground and very badly beaten and kicked, and had spent 5 nights in intensive care. And the police aren't even calling it a "racial hatred crime". If this happened the way it's being reported (and sometimes these things aren't - remember the Tawanna Brawley fiction cooked up by Al Sharpton?), then this is an outrage. There hasn't been a word about it in the national news. I can hardly believe it in America today that such a grotesque racial incident occurs and it's completely ignored. I don't understand. What could be the reason for the news blackout on this heinous racial attack?
Oh. I had it wrong - the family was white and the gang of attackers was black. That's okay then, because everyone knows the "racial hatred" crimes can only be imposed against whites., And they probably deserved being beaten anyway. After all, they are white. So never mind.
The whole concept of a "hate crime" is ridiculous. For one thing, it says certain people are entitled to more protection under the law than other people. And, don't all crimes involve a level of hatred? I mean, it's not like they are motivated by love.

The latest hate crime in Germany didn't really receive a whole lot of media attention either. A muslim woman was killed in court by a racist, she is now being celebrated in Egypt as martyr.
I guess that's what you get for being apologetic towards all those idiots who can't tell terrorists from muslims.

One term always kills me... everything about this term is inherently racist. I think you should be called a racist if you ever use this term.
This case shows how important the concept of rule of law is: that the laws are passed and applied equally. Only trouble follows when we try to say some are more worthy of protection or "more equal" merely because of their identity, race or ethnicity. We must abide by this principle because as humans, we simply aren't capable of exercising perfect discretion. If we were, everyone would demand that we be ruled by kings.
I did this primarily to demonstrate that the US is held hostage by a monolithic, partisan and interested media. Far from being objective, it reports and pushes the"narrative" it favors. Do you have any doubt the incident would have been been front page news in all the major daily newspapers (the 2 or 3 that are left), and reported in the first 3 minutes of each major network's evening news if it had been as I first described it?
I did this also to demonstrate that we ourselves have in some cases been propagandized to the point we are no longer objective, and are tainted by the very same prejudices and blindspots that foul our media and political class.
Let's see "what the rest of the story is", because it's always possible in cases like this for the victim to have run his mouth or for to be something else that makes him a less than 100% pure victim. But remember, that's for the "second round" of reporting - the media has yet to acknowledge the thing happened at all. Besides, when it was the other way round, too many times the media has found no reason at all to stop spreading a story just becasue ti was reported initally incorrectly (e.g., Tawana Brawley).
Look at it this way: the next time a black and a white girl are kidnapped the same week we will probably only hear about the white one. So we're all even again.

Pssssht. The finale of American Idol... and I mean the most climactic moment, was interrupted by an Amber Alert. Amber alerts are issued as quickly as possible after a child abduction. Im all for it, as time is of the essence in those situations. Plus, I hate American Idol. IIRC, they found him thankfully but his name was some kind of crazy African American invented muslim sounding name.

Yeah, probably. I also think those "hate crimes" are a bunch of bullshit. Why should I be for example punished harder for beating up a black guy than for a white guy. Doesn't make any sense, but if I'll ever be in America and feel the urge to beat somebody up I'll pick a white heterosexual.
