looks like most of the Humvee's in your bro's unit are up-armored. Good luck to him.
You should be proud of the job your brother is doing in Iraq. I hope he makes it home safely.
jumjumCouldn't stand it, could ya?
Am I not allowed to practice free speech?
The American WayAm I not allowed to practice free speech?
I'll assume that's rhetorical, but, sure, anyone can make remarks that are gratuitously insulting, unnecessary to the subject, and intetionally offensive to a sizeable segment of the audience. Unfortunately, "freedom of speech" is often confused (sometimes intentionally) with "freedom from comment", "freedom from dissent", "freedom from counter-speech", "freedom from consequence" or "freedom from disagreement". In actuality, if one chooses to speak, there is and can be no guarantee the speaker or the message will be well received, well regarded or unchallenged. This childish idea (that "freedom of speech" means automatically having one's ideas accepted instead of or in preference to others) sometimes remains in adults unexposed to critical thinking. Basically, it's a matter of intellectual honesty. A good corollary to the concept of "freedom of speech" is: "...and the wisdom to exercise it." Not that people can't be exceedinlgy foolish or selfish in what they choose to speak about or where or how they say it; that happens all the time. It's just that things are much more pleasant for everyone when a little thought and respect is given to site, circumstance and audience. That's all. We probably all have some cultural, political, social or religious ideas that are offensive to someone else. It seems to me a lot more pleasant to argue here about how long a KT might survive against an M-26, how to overclock, or whether Wile E. Coyote might have finally done in Roadrunner if he had had an Acme Panzerfaust. There are coiuntless sites for argument over something else.
I hope your brother will soon return safe (along with his fellow comrades). He is doing what is expected of him by his country, and I respect him for that, even though I do not support his mission. I pray that he will help bring peace to the region, how unlikely it may sound though. - Blame Canada (and long live the socialist revolution)
Nice pictures! Better than some even news photos I've seen. Tell him to be safe and thank you.
those are awesome! good luck to him!!
nice pics tell your borther good luck and come home ASAP. plus my uncle ( like an idiot) said he has not forefilled his life until he goes to war, hes int he seals. my bros frined is also over in Iraq in an M1, any who we have as said befoe big supporters over here!
My own bro is going to Iraq in november, with the British Military Police. I don't have anything against the troops on the ground. my disagreement is with the politicians who started one of the most illegal wars in the history of military conflict.

Fully agree on that!
