besides the internet is ungodly slow there......
I think it may have more to do with the distance between Illinois and Iraq. Nice pictures!
My friend's Dad was in Iraq, the NZ army uses armed Toyota Hiluxes in their convoys, not humvees. Friend's Dad was telling me about how with the armoured humvees, if they go over 25mph offroad, they actually go airborne :D
Just tell him to be careful over there and when he gets back.
A kid just got back here from spending a year in Iraq and survived without a scratch and his family and friends threw him a welcome back party. He got drunk and a friend who also had been drinking was driving him home and another friend was following. The driver lost control of the car at high speed and spun into a tree. The driver of the second car got the driver out OK but the kid who just got back from Iraq was trapped and burned to death.
So by all means he needs to be careful there and when he gets back.
karma sucks sometimes:(
I don't have anything against the troops on the ground. my disagreement is with the politicians who started one of the most illegal wars in the history of military conflict.
Pretty much my opinion, too. Love the soldier, hate the war. It's sad how the army always gets the blunt of the dislike from anti-war protesters.
Poor fellow? He, like all soldiers, should be proud to serve their country.
He lives in a war zone and risks his life daily. His occupation isn't the safest, no matter how much pride he feels.
This is not a political discussion thread. It is the height of rudeness and poor taste to turn it into a political discussion thread.
Buzh r teh crappx0r ...Kidding. No, nobody turn this into a political debate, please. This should be a little troop-honoring debate-free zone. I hope he comes back alive. Norway doesn't have troops in Iraq for political reasons, but we have a bunch in Afghanistan, who I worry about quite a lot although Afghanistan is quite peaceful.
Nice pics, give your bro good luck from us!
