I take what n0e says way too seriously

Cannot wait to play this mod for BFV. Includes the ability to change ammotype among other goodies. I have only looked at its forums a little so I am not sure how realistic it will be(probably will be like DC, but I personally think it will still be fun).
Basicly its alot like DC, just way better. The rock-paper-scissor concept just works much better thanks to some BFV features (homing missiles for AA). Besides some balancing tweaks it works just fine.
I really like it and think it has a glorious future ahead of it. And after the dissapointing BFV, its finally something worth playing (especially once I get a working joystick again)
This mod seriously owns. I played it for a few hours and I'm amazed. The maps that I played the most were: Sabre, Maikona and Maka I think. Tank vs. tank combat is just perfect. The best after FH. I'll give a few reasons why... 1) The guns can switch between AP and HEAP rounds. 2) Most of the MBTs/IFVs have smoke grenade launchers in the secondary position. 3) The tanks just feel right. They move smoothly and they are quite fast. It's incredible, but I actually held out for a long time in some of the open maps. I used a lot of smoke 'nades and quick repairs. I got a real giddy feeling out of that. All in all, this mod impressed me a lot. It was like playing DC for the first time back in spring '03.
The trajectory of the tank rounds, and the tracer it uses, is perfect. Really enjoyin' the heck out of it.
I played it a lot today the only things i dont liek are the russins speak english and uhh uniforms but it is very fun and it pwns dc
I was pretty dissapointed in this mod. PoE is seriously lacking in a lot of areas that could have been avoided. It falls for all the same faux pas' of other modern combat mods that take 5 or 6 betas to iron out. Like..
AIRPOWER is way overpowered. Hellicopters rule everything, just like in BF:V. Planes are mostly useless. DC had this problem, but it fixed it within the course of a couple of releases. You'd think the developers would learn from DC's mistake and not make hellicopters the ultimate whore weapons that people TK for and TK with. Get used to seeing tanks lined up on the spawns while people jump around waiting for a hellicopter.
M2 Bradley has some serious lag when firing its main gun, and the 25mm does less damage then the 7.62mm machine gun. Oversight.
The maps are barren and desolate, usually consisting of open grassless desert with hills. The flags have 1 or 2 buildings around them and then its empty desert land for the rest of the way until the next flag. They didn't seem to put any time into making them visually or interactively appealing.
There's no class limits, so once again, every has RPGs. Its funny to see new mods fall for the same mistakes other mods have fallen for time and time again.
Russians seem to have the advantage equipmentwise, thus, their team gets stacked.
The M2HB 50 cal on top of the Humvees has a very limited up/down traverse, making it impossible to hit aircraft with. It takes 2 or 3 hits from the .50 cal to kill infantry, and tanks and light armor shrugs the weapon off. Re-evaluation should be done here.
They seemed to have copied DC down to the last detail and put it into BF:V. The hellicopters work the same, the tanks work the same, the light armor works the same, the weapons are close enough. If you've played DC, you have played a much better version of PoE.
Almost no new sounds whatsoever. 90% of them have been lifted from stock BF:V.
There's almost no AA. There's a few dedicated vehicles and there's jets, but jets are as I stated earlier, pretty useless. This just adds to the hellicopter pwnage.
On the upside, there are a few good things:
Models. The models are great. The M1, T-90, all the weapon models, etc. are very well done and look fantastic.
It runs pretty well. No laggy models.
Lots of servers to pick from.
Final Thought: Nothing new here at all. The ammo changing system for tanks is already done, and done BETTER, on BF1942 in a mod called DC:R. PoE does allow you to change ammo using the up/down keys, but there's no onscreen indicator of what ammo you are using. There is in BF1942 though! Advanced and powerful engine I think not. If you want to fill up some space on your hard drive, then this is a great mod. The stale, uninteresting gameplay is almost overshadowed by the complete lack of vehicle balance. PoE started up with the same mistakes as so many other mods, and it hurts bad. The saving grace is that it is due to be popular only because of a lack of alternatives, with people getting bored of BF:V and no other serious mod efforts released yet.
I really like the SAW model. Its really nice... almost FH class on it :D
Maybe its a bit unpolished but its beta 0.1 and I think that is going to be way better than DC
I'm pretty much going to have to agree with Ohioan. It's a very buggy DC more or less. It MAY be better with some time, but right now, I'm kinda dissappointed that they're not making better use of the 'slightly' better BF:V engine.
It would be much better if not for all the kamakazi'ing BFV super noobs that play it. I mean I was even kamakazied by a POE dev today. Inf, just like here in FH, have no fear of tanks or armor so they just run up constantly placing mines all over me and bunny hopping on thier merry way .I'm constantly being shot in my armor by some moron in the Avenger AA thinking that maybe he will kill me. I just hope to God that a no noob server opens up some time otherwise I might not ever play this online.
i think that this mod sucks its a bit like the Conflict in Somalia first release ;)
