Greetings, I was just wondering how everyone used Teamspeak. I have a great cable connection, so I thought I would use TS. I have gone through the wolf server setup and gotten registered, ect. How do most of you guys use this feature in-game? Do you have keys bound to do certian tasks so you don't have to "leave the game" to switch channels, ect.? I would love to see how some of you have this set up to get an Idea of the "correct" way to do it. Thanks!

I never use it in-game, but that's mostly becuase I don't use it. I wouldn't worry about switching channels, as you'll only do that out of the game anyway. I do think that "Press to Talk" fuction works better than Voice Recognition.

If I'm not mistaken you can bind a button to switch between channels. Might as well do that to switch between axis and allied channels while ingame on the wolf server.

Also, please put "push to talk" instead of voice activation because no one likes hearing people cough, sneeze, chew, or curse.

I'd like to try TS.

What do I need to run it, and can I run it with my 7.1 surround speakers running?

All you need is a comp and a mic.

I think TS is best used with a headphone with incorporated mic set. These sets are very cheap, so I'm sure you can buy one of them :) Of course, it will work with a lonely mic and your surround speakers, but if you use TS with your speakers on you'll have feedback problems, and your buddys will heard the sound of your speakers, and usually that is very uncomfortable. :uhoh: There are some great tutorials about configuring TS at "battle for europe : world at war tournament" forums. Clic the next link to see that tutorial: http://forums.battleforeurope.com/bf1942/viewtopic.php?t=5794 It's important you use the "Local test mode" before join TS to hear yourself and correct the mic gain, etc. In my opinion, if you disable the "+20dB boost mic" check at your recording Windows mixer options, and you put your mic ~5 cm from your mouth you'll get a clear and free of distortion sound. :nodding: There is a VERY USEFUL application called TSO (Team Speak Overlay) that show you who is speaking in your TS channel while you're playing . It's great, because usually you don't recognize who is speaking. It's very used at WaW to recognize your officer's orders. ;) You can get this little program here: http://bfmaps.nl/~sauron/TSO.rar

That last link didn't work for me :( Sounds useful though :) Edit: http://www.bfmaps.nl/~sauron/ works ... but no file.

PLEASE do not use that while in game! Use headphones if you want to use teamspeak. It is very annoying to hear other people's game sounds while they are talking. It would be made so much worse by the fact that you are playing with surround sound!
