Hmm... It seems that you can watch it in high quality with stereo sound if you add &fmt=18 to the end of the address.

Example:

YouTube - Talvisota - The Winter War 1/20

The sound crew did an amazing job with this movie, so I recommend you should watch it in high quality.

Amazing! How did you figure this neat trick out?

In the beginning of the first video there is a box that says:

"Follow the links in the video descriptions to watch in high quality, with full-blow stereo sound."

:)

I think Martti's half-brother Erkkilä is the best character in the movie. The death scene with the dramatic music brings a tear to my eye.

Flippy, do you remember if there's this kind of a scene in the TV version?

Martti is visiting his family back in Kauhava. Martti's mother asks Martti: "Where have you learned to smoke?" (or something like that)

Martti started to smoke at the front lines, to pass the time.

Ok, here's one of the scenes from the extended TV version. It was recorded in 1991, so the quality is pretty bad.

YouTube - Talvisota - Military hospital (ultra rare)

The miniseries will be aired on Finnish TV during April, and it's planned to be released on DVD later this year.
