Is it out yet? i thought it had a march release.
Is the version you have to pay for the same as the mod for ut'04?
the bid difference now is; You dont need ut04, its a full standalone with no limits on the engine, if you look at prone in RedOrchestra for ut04, youll see its kinda hacked, but now its perfect (well it should be) and they added some cools things
limbs can be blown of.
If thats all the difference i'll just lend my friends copy of ut'04 and download the mod
Never played RO for UT2003 or 2004. However, this game really got me interested. How is it compared to FH? The one thing I noticed is that it somehow looked more WW2 than FH. I really liked the atmosphere in the video. Anyone who've played both RO and FH and can give some pros/cons?
some more videos here i know that red orchestra will be better:smokin::D http://www.bfero.com/video/c2b2/ i love to see some clips to shw what game play is like before i buy it :-)hahaha or invest in it
I loved RO's infantry combat it felt much more natural than FH. The ability to change barrels, deploy mg's, have class restrictions and iron sights for all weapons made it feel more realistic. I also liked the fact that you have areas of control where you need a bigger number of people than the enemy to take control and not a silly flag. RO also has a kick ass artillery feature. The downsides of RO are the fact that it is only two sides on one front, no air and sea elements, seperate driver and gunner (it isn't that bad when you have a buddy on ts though), very crappy bots and the tank combat feels unnatural. Maybe this stand alone version has improved the handling of the tanks though, I hope so.
And the release is mid march IIRC.
