yup, but i think the mod is a pretty good standard to go from,
ostfront will look better, play better (according to the devs)
and what other way is there to invite people to the game since the devs havent released any "REAL" ingame shots. Like on a normal server to see the full hud, people chatting, and yelling in the mics for a tank on the left.
The pics we have seen for ostfront are only some "static" ingame ones. Shots selected that looked best, so that isnt a way to judge the game if it will be worht getting or not, so youll need to look at the mod, and if you dont like the way the mod looks, im afraid ostfront will also be nothing for you...
i know pics arent ideal to show the feel of a game, but they get you a bit further in: getting it or not
I'm def buying this in stores.
This is definitely something worth checking out. It just might keep me occupied until FH2 arrives. Read at their homepage that a Demo will be released shortly after or maybe even before the launch of the game. If the Demo gets the thumbs up then I guess I'll have no excuse not to buy this game...except the money issue but eh, who needs food anyway.
demo WILL be released AFTER the full release of RO:O, ill try to find the defs quote...
EDIT: found it :)
(RO)Wilsonam Actually the reasoning is pretty simple: 1. To create a demo, we need the game finished, at Gold standard. 2. At the point we go Gold, we are only a day or so from release, courtesy of Steam. We don't have the traditional delays caused by going through physical distribution channels. 3. Creating a demo version of the game could take a week or so of "free time". 4. We are a small dev shop, self-funded - we haven't had "free time" for a year now. 5. So - once the game is at Gold, we'll get it OUT as fast as possible. That way everyone who has pre-paid can get what they paid for. 6. THEN we can create the demo!
yes i will play this until FH 2 come out it looks so cool:D:smokin: i like a demo first maybe
Wish they would do all the fronts, a great wealth of different countries, weapons, etc at that quality of work would be excellent.
Someone asked for a comparison, RO is the most realistic game I've played hands down and vehicle combat is just down right awesome! FH, is more rounded and has more which is always nice for a change. Air power is a good example of it, and RO doesn't have it.
I wasn't going to buy it, but I don't think I can resist now. :( (actually, that's a good thing. hehe)
You can win beta acces to RO: Ostfront 41-45 when you register at moddb and are one of the lucky ones that get picked.
What was once one of the best mods of its day (having won the $1,000,000 Make Something Unreal competition), is now only a few weeks from hitting the shelves as a fully fledged, no-shortcuts-taken awesome game. What is even better, is RO's drive to support and help out the mod community and that is why (thanks to Tripwire Interactive) we now have a handful of Steam Beta access keys to give out. So if you are like me and counting down the days to this games release, stop waiting because you have a chance to get playing right now.
How? Well we just need a few enthusiastic volunteers who want to give this game a good hammering / thrashing. Respond to this news post if interested, and this time 2 days from now - we will pick a few people at random and give them access via their Steam account. It couldn't be easier to jump onto the battlefields during WWII. For more information about this game, head to the Red Orchestra official homepage, or jump onto the Red Orchestra Game Profile here at the Mod DB.

Looks like they're all gone anyway...
Besides, I'm hooked on Resident Evil Cold Blood. A Co-Op mod for HL1.
