Today I found a site (Sound Effects, Production Music, Royalty Free Music, MP3 AIF WAV Sound Effects) which is full of sound effects, samples etc. when I searched and listened a bit I thought, let's make a Saving Private Ryan with Paint. So Saving Private Paint, this midday I started working on it and because it turned out so well I want to release a 'teaser' which shows what I made in paint and some sound effects. The intro theme is from Band of Brothers and the D-Day screen is based on Saving Private Ryan beach intro. The US soldier is a test with sounds and paint :p Here you go, enjoy! I think I will finish this project in a week and I hope I can make more :) Tell me whats wrong and whats good and keep in mind it's work in progress, also I would love to hear some funny ideas you could have for a D-day animation! Thank you.

not much animation... 4 pictures I think. But keep trying, starters are always tough.

you're good at paint.

and as kubador said, could use more pictures, even though it takes some time. try to do it well from the beginning with a lot of picture = smoother animation = better

If you can get a hold of a program like Sony Vegas or others that allows for the use of green screen. I highly recomend it. As you can draw in paint your characters doing a bunch of different actions, and use the program instead with Keys on an animation line to animate it. The water especially, copying it 4 5 times and making it lower and raise. And even green screening explosions done in paint, at different stages, and beach obstacles so you can destroy them when you want to. The characters don't really even need to move, the characters can be still with a moving background, that works too.

I draw all my characters with a large nose, it's my cartoon-drawing style. Just like Walter Moers. Well it was my first animation and I worked about 1.5 hours on it so I thought it was quite good :p And no Sony Vegas for me, I prefer paint, pure paint.. Oh yes, just so you guys know, this is not everything. I already have landingcraft and a beach that are not shown in video, I was just to lazy to add even more sounds just for that :)
