Just send us lots of money to pay for the servers and related costs and we'll get rid of them

Im used to ads. They are everywhere anyways, theres no place to hide. Even my toilet paper has Paris Hilton's IQ on it... after wiping, that is.

Oh yeah how dreadful. Seriously, get yourself and adblocker and be done with it.

Seems to me it's a market issue: FF makes whatever business decision it thinks it should; and its market can choose whether they want to pay the freight.

BTW, I'm quite impressed at the speed of FF's response. I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

I cba. They dont really bother me. As long as my pop-up killer deals with the worst ones, I'll survive. :)

Don't take my word for anything even remotely resembling official FileFront management decisions. There is only one man who can do that, and that's Jeff (n0e)

I just put 2 and 2 together. Forums need hosting/servers/bandwidth and a forum as big as this one needs a lot of it.

Ads = revenue and revenue = Forum still being here in the morning

Besides, I just happened to click the "New Posts" link right after you made this thread

They continue to do workarounds to the blockers. Which isn't the point. But I understand why some people would want everyone to shut up and make no waves: submitting to a perceived authority figure is a hard thing to overcome when you've been doing it for generations.

i dont mind the ones off to the side, the ones you can choose to look at or not, see the product and say: "hmm, i want to buy that" or "thats not for me". but when they disguise themselves as games with prizes and pretend to be posts in a thread, it goes too far. if i am tricked into going to a link, i will not buy the product on principle.
