Another topic to have a good discussion about

Michael Moore's new documentary called sicko is about the health security and industry .

a short clip from the movie

YouTube - SiCKO- What Hospital Bills?

Btw lets not discuss michael moore himself , i know he can dramatize stuff but there is a truth behind it .

Lets just say if my life was on the line, I would choose Traditional Chinese Medicinal Practices over western ones any day of the week. Western doctors are out to make money, going you prescriptions that you have to keep taking, therefor keep buying from them...instead of a one time cure-all.....

Scientists cure cancer, but no one takes notice - Opinion

Puts an interesting perspective on things....whether or not its all just a false hope....

I agree, my dad says the same. All American doctors want is money - they don't know how to help people they just waste their time giving them different drugs and charging as much as possible. While doctors in other countries(like Russia - my homeland) they actually think of other traditional ways in how to cure/help the problem in a cheaper, easier way.

OK so the University of Alberta discoveres a cure for cancer and with all those minds and money they cant start their own drug company??? They'd make alot more money marketing a cure for cancer then they would funding glee clubs and lacrosse teams. cmon guys! The whole world is not dominated by US Pharmacuetical companies. So what countries in other continents have added it to their water supply yet? Yet another down with America thread...

Do they really need to say Edmonton, Alberta...Canada? FFS, does your map end at the 49th parallel?

"They found a cure for Cancer in Edmonton!" "Where?" "Edmonton, Alberta..." "Huh?" "CANADA!" "Didn't their beakers freeze?" ""

Someone nicely described Edmonton as "the Hoth of Canada." I don't think it's the Canada part so much as the Hoth part... :-)

Anyway, you've heard of a Kentucky breakfast? A bottle of bourbon and a steak, and a dog to eat the steak? That's all the traditional medicine you need. Maybe if it's a physical injury a roll of duct tape. Cheers!

stylie;3696099Yet another down with America thread...

I never specifically mentioned America, I said Western Medicine, I really don't care either way though, I live in America, and its there practice that put me off to it. It gets so f*cking annoying whenever I want to argue against some of America's "policies" it turns me anti-American?

Well then give me a head wrap and call me Abdul....I guess I'm a terrorist:rolleyes:

I don't trust the doctors were I live. So I rely on medicine I know that works, not some business man who tells me it works as long as I buy it from his company.....

Thats true you did not. Nor did anyone call you or assume you are a terrorist and/or Anti-American. So what, now everyone that wears a head wrap is a terrorist?

I love where this thread is going sorry about my PMS'ing though, was in a very bad mood when I wrote that, didn't mean to go off, and I understand what you were saying. I have seen alot of America ashing lately, most of it seems to come from poorly informed kids though just trying to ride the "bash" train to make them more popular....so I dont really put to much stock in it.....

Oh come on...

At least they have FDA there. I know things like corruption and shitheads on the department all around. But this, I am a Chinese-Japanese, living in Indonesia, i use traditional medicines, from both local (called jamu, which is very popular in Europe countries such as The Netherlands/the former colonizer, Germany, and Denmark) and Chinese traditional. Here in this country, oh they have to make stupid fake drugs, not the working one. It is freakin' dangerous, since most of the people are stupids (uneducated, to show my courtesy), when the treatment failed, they just keep return, and return, and keep returning like retarted ass.

It is not completely their fault, in US, you have a strong consumer protection law (i heard you can sue a company to bankcruptcy when they upset you in California). In here, you can get them to the courthouse. But mostly you'll get nothing. Moreover, if the company is a bastard one, they'll get into the bureaucracy, do some bribings, and you know what: they will accuse the user for being stupid, not following the usage instructions, bla bla blah... and in turn, the poor user will get sued back for reputation damaging.

For me, western medicines are just as good as it is. It is proven to be effective, and the side effects are very well documented.

The doctors here, i'll talk after you tell me about work ethics in Western countries (Europe, US). In here, as fellow doctors, they say that they have professional ethics. If one did something wrong, for example malpractice (one case, a doctor was being accused for conducting poor surgery practice that caused the death of a celebrity). The other have no right to even put a comment about it in front of press, so we never know whether someone died for what reason. When the government formed up team to investigate, no one will speak up, of course, bunch of professional murderers. Some will actually talk, but most likely will be expelled from the IDI (the Doctor's union) afterwards. The same goes to professional pilots.
