I've heard and read this phrase a few times now.
"Today's world is complicated. People in the past had it easy. Tommies were Tommies and Nazi's were Nazi's [presumably Lumberjacks were Lumberjacks]. We havn't really studied history that closely so aren't really aware of the labyrinthine moral dilemmas that people had to face then. We've also forgotten that organisations like the Black Shirts were active in Britain and would rather get are black and white paints out. No we won't be mixing the colors.
Instead of engaging with the issues in Iraq, Afghanistan and other trouble spots [while not forgetting to kick back occasionally and appreciate the good things in life] and doing the hard work that might actually HELP, we would much rather hark back to some mythological time when men were MEN and women were GIRLS !
No, we'd much rather blame any problems on a GLOBAL CONSPIRACY, or even ALIENS. Appreciating the intelligence and GUILE of mankind would be too shocking and EYE OPENING.
No, no, it was much simpler back then"
Thankyou. Please pick up your brain on the way out.
Its obvious that as the years pass the world will become more and more complicated and busy. People change, new religions are formed, new types of death, technology and etc.
People now days annoy me. I've said it many times. I don't like it when people doubt things, yet they're willing to follow the common crowd with their idiotic ideas.
Happily politicians have it harder as well. It's easy to control unaware crowd but a well informed society, now that's a different story.
Btw, where did you get that bollock from?
In the old days, everything was much better.
Jumjum needs to come into this thread and write a 10 page article on the olden days, when men were men, women were women, and small furry creatures from alpha centauri were small furry creatures from alpha centauri

But haven't some people always been like that Sire_Apple ? It was kind of my point.

Er, um, shuffles feet. I wrote it. I wouldn't take it too seriously.

Yea, they have. But it seems now days people are more easily influenced by the crowd then ever. I don't have any friends like this, I just ment I talk, see, or hear this almost everyday. Almost like, some people, teens and adults, aren't even their own person anymore.

Well informed people? People having the opportunity to inform theirself doesn't mean they would do this. Assuming that they had that opportunity, there are so many facts out there which never show up on serious websites that I only randomly hear from somewhere else, political cabaret e.g.
What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. --Ecclesiastes 1:9
Is that from like a newer version of the bible? Cause it doesn't sound like KJ.. doesn't even sound like NIV.
