Soldatenlieder der Wehrmacht-Westerwald
Does anyone know where I could find the lyrics to this song? I know it's not racist because Heino sang it lol
and Heino owns lol
I know it starts something like this
Hah what are the chances that I had this song translated 3 years ago.
1. Today we want to march, try a new march, |: In the beautiful Westerwald, yes, there coldly whistles the wind :|
chorus: Oh you beautiful Westerwald where the wind whistles coldy over your heights however, the tiniest sunshine enters deely into your heart.
2. And the Gretel and the Hans like to go dance on Sunday |: Because dancing is fun, and the hearts laugh in your body :|
3. And when the dancing is finished, there usually comes a brawl |: And the boy who don't like this has no guts :|
Some of the translation might sound weird but oh well. Heres the thread were some guy translated a few songs for me. http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?t=26601&start=0

Google is your friend... JW
this song is perferct for long marches like 30+km. very fun to sing it with the whole squad and u forget the pain in ur feet for a while ;)
hehe - i´m half westerwälder...
Google for the Song "Erika", it's way better for marching, and even non native german speakers can sing it.
Btw topgun "Herr Oberst Feldmarschall" is a little nonsense, there is Generaloberst and Generalfeldmarschall, but not the one you use :p
I took part in one of the battles at the weekend at Beltring as part of a 30-man strong Panzergrenadier platoon and when we marched back from the arena we sang 'Panzerlied', it was bloody awesome! We all looked the business :D
Hehe, I heard you guys singing that - it did sound great... ...although the rear half of the column seemed to be a couple of lines behind the front half! :D It's a shame the battle itself wasn't up to the same standard though :(
